Taliban's New Super-Bombs Threaten U.S. Troops, Even in Pricey MRAPs

Everyone focus's on the IED's thinking they're the only risk. I'm in afghanistan now, I spent most of my deployment just south of Kabul in Wardak. Our stretch of Highway 1 is more scorched from rockets and RPGs than anything else.

In that article, an officer says the MRAPs aren't designed to take that kind of beating...that they break in half. Thats what they're designed to do. they're designed to take the blast, and litterally fall apart. People get hurt in them, because they don't have the excess equipment strapped down, or they're not wearing their seatbelts. The MRAP can take a 5000 pound explosion, and everyone inside will walk away if they just follow the SOPs. I've seen an MRAP get hit with an IED, i've seen everyone walk away with minor scratches, and bruises. They were hit by a 1000 pound IED. If they can do that, then why can't anyone else? Because they're lazy and don't want to take the time to strap everything down. If you want to focus on the MRAP, then focus on what it's problems really are. That it breaks down constantly. A single slash in an air hose and the whole truck is deadlined. The air pressure won't build up, and the truck won't move. That happens all the time, just from driving on dirt roads. A rock bounces up, and the truck stops.

We'll get the job done. America can't quit this fight. This one's for keeps. We must win and we will. These cowards who threaten women and children with lies and kill civilians without any remorse cannot be allowed to gain control. Let the United States military do what it does best and destroy their evil.

Can't they build cages or grates under the culverts like they do in in many places in the U.S.? After all in America cities get sued if accidents happen in those areas even if only injury occurs, let alone death. They should be more proactive. Hell' thats got to be more praciticle. and cheaper than UAV survailence.`

Ocain and McBama won't bring 'change'

they are both puppets to the same puppetmasters.

I think after Mcbama wins, alot of dummycrats are going to be disappointed.

McBama will be just as much of a war monger as Ocain.

I can't stand this war anymore. Who cares about victory or defeat?? We shouldn't stroke our own egos here - we f*d up bad. It's time to seriously handle this as a country instead of "going about our business and shopping"

Just finish the job as best as possible and stay on the defensive - let's just outlive them instead of attacking other countries.

When we went into Afghanistan, Russia was quietly laughing in our faces. They have been dealing with Afghanistan for much longer than we have with very little success. There isn't much to gain from this, it's time to leave.

is inane. We invaded a sovereign nation and destroyed it government because they wouldn't approve a pipeline our oil companies wanted. We shouldn't even be there and certainly not telling Afghans how to run things. They've been successfully fighting off invaders for thousands of year and they're good at it. Our effort is doomed.

Considering that the CIA has US soliders protecting heroin fields in Afghanistan and that the Israeli's are helping mule the opium out to Turkey, this story sounds like a drug war between two competing factions.

Get out of the illegal drug trade, Pentagon, then come back and tell us some ore lies about another country you wish to invade.

We attacked a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

• Many months prior to the 9/11 Terrorist Attack, a decorated former Israeli soldier in New Jersey overheard three men talking in Hebrew about the upcoming attacks. He heard several things:

o Two jets would crash into the Twin Towers

o The Arabs are “so stupid”! They don’t know how we are using them!

o “We have enough people in high places to insure the operation’s success.

o When it’s over, the Americans will know what we (Israelis) go through.

In other words, men speaking Hebrew, the native language of Israel were planning to take down the Twin Towers and blame it on Muslims, many months prior to the 9/11 attacks, in order to enlist America in their cause in the Middle East.

European Intel experts support this theory and consider the Bin Laden Confessions fake. No wonder things aren't going well in Afghanistan. Divine Providence won't allow us to win a war based upon falsehood.
