I recall my family receving food items during this era which were tastily prepared by my mother, Uncles and other relatives of mine had jobs with agencies of thNRA AND EXISTED IN THat manner. I THOUGHT FDR DID A GREAT SERVICE FOR OUR COUNTRY. My family in IOwa was not hungry nor lived in bad situation. We had a good home and were comfortable.I had a savings account in one of the banks that was lost in the depression in 1933. I thought Pres hoover took my money!

My folks lived through the Depression, and they learned FDR was a Godsend to this Nation...After republican economics to which we have returned to under Reagan/GW, Obama and the dems again have to clean up the mess...

My daddy lived through the Great Depression, and he taught me that FDR was the devil incarnate. (I come from a line of conservatives.)
