You could make a solid argument that Harding was a better president than Wilson. Wilson was a disaster.

NORMALCY of KY 11:23PM February 20, 2012

Harding kind of sounds like JFK. How come JFK didn't make the worst President list?

RP of WA 2:52PM February 06, 2012

You people are so stupid. He might not have been the worst president of all time but he was definitely one of the WORST by far. You people need to quit whining like a bunch of little girls having a tea party fighting over where your dolls sit and wake up and smell the coffee. Times change. Look what your prophet Reagan did, he cut taxes too. Cutting taxes doesn't get the economy anywhere in terms of paying down the debt you idiots. If it did, Reagan wouldn't have tripled it by the time he was through with creating yet another Republican mess. The booming debt we have today was started by Reagan. Lunatics such as you people say Reagan did a whole lot of good. Okay, let us Progressives take you at your word for just a second. Recession hits, Reagan triples the debt, so, why can't Obama spend not even 0.5X (5 Trillion) cleaning up your mess? This isn't Obama's income tax policy we're following today, it's Bush's! All you freaks are as numb to the sense of thought as Rush Limbaugh. How about you tell the even bigger numb-skulls you vote for to actually vote, "Yes" to Obama's agenda? Why not? We aren't where we are today because Obama's cleaned up a damn thing. It's still there you fools! Can't you see all the blood you spilled, all the lives your responsible for contributing to eventually be murdered by the Bush Administration? You voted Republican. You contributed to all the blood spilled in Iraq because your Anti-American Leader Bush decided to go to war to Iraq over 'Weapons of Mass Destruction" and you agreed with him! You knowingly even voted for him again!!! When you vote for someone who lies about going to war and that war KILLS REAL AMERICANS, you contributed to their MASS MURDER and ALL of you should be put on trial for treason if you know what I mean. It's a beauty everyone's presumed innocent till proven guilty and we all have freedom of speech in this country isn't it?

The progressives are trying their best to label him as a bad president because he took over the presidency from by far the absolute worse president in our nations history... Woodrow Wilson.

Woodrow Wilson managed to start the income tax, IRS, and the federal reserve.. Followed by the 17th amendment that because of it allowed money to purchase senators, instead of allowing the states to have their own representation... good job progressives!

Warren cleaned up the deep recession that Wilson created. My only complaint is he slashed taxes instead of just killing the income tax outright... would have been far more effective in bringing permanent prosperity back to America instead of legalized slavery and bondage brought to us by the communist and Obama's mentor: Woodrow Wilson.

Harding should have been regarded as one of our greatest presidents.

He took a deep deep recession, even deeper than the one in 1929 and turned it around in less than 18 months.

How?? By slashing government spending by almost 50%, paid off 1/3rd of the debt and slashed ALL income taxes way way down.

The problem corrected itself almost overnight, but of course thats why nobody wants to talk about it since the country was spared from a prolonged depression, unlike the one Obama has us stuck in.

Everyone talks about the great depression in the 1930's, but the handling of that recession first by Hoover and then followed by FDR who took all of Hoovers ideas and put them on steroids (Kind of like the terrible Bush policies that Obama took and stomped on the gas).

The parallels are amazing.

let me add that President Harding also invited NAACP leaders to the White House in the early 1920s, a time when the KKK was almost in charge of the Democratic party. He was ahead of his time on civil rights and other issues, but gets no credit from liberals for that. Why?

This article mentions nothing of Harding's tax cuts, his reductions in spending and his other innovations and focusses only on personal details. Is JFK's and Clinton's womanizing the only thing mentioned about them?! It's clear this is a biased and very unfair article.

And Wilson, the statist, racist and unrealistic internationalist, was the most overrated.

The economy was a shambles by 1920, after Wilson's wartime regulations and other activities harmed US ability to recover. Harding came in and, shock of all shocks, delivered on his promises. There was a sharp recession and a strong recovery.

The Roaring 20s was roaring and successful because of Harding's policies at home and abroad that rescued America from the errors of the Wilson administration.

If only we had those policies from 2009-2012, instead of Obama's socialistic malaise, USA would be back on top.

PJ of TX 11:40PM July 08, 2011

He cut federal taxes in every group, cut federal spending in half, initiated policies that cut the national debt in half. He took office after Wilson's policies had resulted in a loss in value in the real estate and stock market of over half their value, and the combination of Wilson's policies and the end of World War I had left the US with am unemployment rate of over 13%. Inside of a year, with these new policies, real estate and the stock market had regained all of the lost value, and the unemployment rate rocketed down to the lowest levels recorded ever before or since.

Argueably he catered to friends and allowed them to profit off the government, like most presidents. He favored poker, unlike our current golfaholic. He took a passive role to the presidency, deciding that the country can run itself pretty well if you leave it alone, like President Clinton figured out in time for a second term. While his tenure did the government no favors, his policies were wonderful for the country, setting off the Roaring 20s, the period of the greatest growth and industry that we'd ever had. And everybody had a job.

We could use a president like Harding.
