What a lot of right wing paranoia there is! The country has always been conservative for my 62 years and there are only isolated incidents of liberalism breaking through like beacons in the darkness. Our country was founded by "liberals" and it seems like people tend to forget that. The whole concept of America was a "liberal" concept. What I really hear coming out is greed and selfishness. Civilization and communities exist for the common good. But it seems like whenever something happens that doesn't directly benefit the so-called "conservatives", they squeal about "the liberals" taking their money. What hogwash! I feel privileged to pay taxes and help support the community I live in. Both locally and nationally. Why is President Obama targeted with so much vitriol? He's been a very conservative president. Certainly not an arrogant one like his predecessor, but basically conservative. Liberals should be mor upset with him than conservatives.

Political Correctness is the death of America. We have bent over backwards to every USA hater in the world, even your (not mine) president bows to theocratic dictators (King Saud). Of course he has to because most of this $950 million campaign funds came from Saudia Arabia and was filtered through mosques as individual donations. TRACE THE MONEY PEOPLE. jmho.

Generally, rankings of worst President seem to define "worst" as least effective. Defining the worst President as the one who caused the greatest damage that took the longest to correct would determine a different list. Given that criterion, I believe that Andrew Jackson would win hands down. H not only created long term financial chaos when, out of spite, he eliminated the Bank of the US (a situation not corrected until the creation of the Federal Reserve some 80 years later), he unlawfully defied the U. S Supreme Court, when he evicted the Indians from their ancestral (and treaty guaranteed) homes in the south east -- (see "Trail of Tears"). I cannot think of any other President that behaved so much as if he believed that he was above the law, and ignored his sworn oath to uphold the Constitution to such an extent.

As an instrcutor in American History, I am constantly amused and amazed by so-called "Historians" ranking of the Presidents. (As for public polls, I dare say half the people taking these polls are incapable of an onjective anslysis.) Seems like our "illustrious?" historians single out James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Warren Harding, Herbert Hoover, and even William Henry Harrison for heaven's sake. Harrison was only President for a month and died, yet some of these "ivory tower" nitwits give him a worst President ranking! That these men and others were not the best President we ever had is probably the case, but I know a lot of prejudice and subjectivism goes into these rankings. I am surprised that even Washington and Jefferson are as well regarded as they are considering the atmosphere on the university campus and the fact that so many are influenced by Marxist and similar left wing nonsense. So who was the worst President? He is the one that the majority of "historians" despise most would be my guess. I also noticed some rather nasty remarks concerning Washington and Jefferson and Reagan....sounds like a mindless Democrat babbling again but alas, when one has diarrhea of the mouth complicated by constipation of the brain, then you have to expect that. Maybe we should have a ranking of Historians by non-historians? Or maybe another poll, yes that's it, a POLL....a poll offered to the general public to grade the historians!!! Let's see the results!

First of all, the shooting at Ft. Hood appears to be the work of a lone gunman who may only have been encouraged by extremism and American foreign policy (no excuse but that's the case). But that remains to be seen. Second, the Ft. Hood shooter was a Major in the U.S. Army. Not only did he serve in the very same army W. was commander-in-chief of, Majors and above are promoted directly by authorization of POTUS. In conclusion, not only did it happen on W's watch but if he and the other officers who worked with the Ft. Hood shooter had a clue, his obvious delusions and failings as a doctor and Army officer would've been seen for what they were: completely obvious.

As a whale-oil wholesaler, George Washington sold out the merchants because he was speculating in powdered-wigs. He is most obviously the worst mercantile president ever. Jefferson was equally terrible, he tried to push his frou-frou French powdered-wigs and their addictive qualities upon a credulous, newly-freed (well most of us) public. Monroe? A HUGE JOKE. Do not even get me started on Reagan, an idiot man-child (google Christian Weston Chandler, to find his latest analogue). Nixon was the greatest President of this Republic, ever, and the sooner people realize that, the sooner America will America all over the rest of the world.
Also, whale-oil is great for lanterns.

For those of you who think Obama should be on the list as one of the worst presidents I think your judgement is prmature. Obama has not even completed his first year as our new president. He has helped reform our health care system, made it law that women should receive equal pay as men and hopefully he may help reform our currupt judicial system giving people the right to equal access to justice especially for those who are poor and disabled like myself. Legal Aid and Legal Services are not very helpful in this day and time to help put a stop to discrimination.

Obama has far exceeded the standard for the WORST president in history and he did it record time. Less than one year in office and we have already had two terrorist attempts on our soil (FT Hood and now the recent airline issue) This would have never happened on George W. watch. This idiot of a president has raised more debt than the last two presidents and is so arrogant, he thinks he can push a socialist style of medical reform down Americans opposing throats. The problem with Liberals is not the idea of change but the absence of moral standard and a solid belief in our constitution which was founded on bibical principles. I'm all for change as long as we don't compromise our standards and beliefs. Unfortunately this is what Obama is doing. He came in on a platform saturated with the absence of any moral standard or solid belief in America. The further we get away from our belief system the worst things get. When Obama came into office it got Worse just as it does when any liberal gets voted in.

Where do I begin? Hmmm, let's see... The unnecessary war on Iraq, making a surplus turn into a deficit, 9/11 occurred on his watch, suppressing stem cell research, introducing "The Axis of Evil", Hurricane Katrina response etc. I could go on, but he's not president anymore and the more I write the more I'm reminded of him!
Releno Heddyoof MN11:45PM December 29, 2009
Premature to judge but it sure could turn out that way if he doesn't get with reality. Not promising.
So far he's not doing very well based on reckless racing toward poorly planned but extremely expensive lefty idealistic socialist desires, surprisingly incompetent on Afghanistan/Iraq/Iran and a Pollyanna approach to the world and social issues in general.
Typical welfare socialist mentality.
......but to judge him as the worst seems to be overkill, at this time anyway.
So far I'd rate him with Jimmy Carter, ethical, moral and towards the bottom but not a total loss.
