PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — A musical based on the romantic comedy "Sleepless in Seattle" will make its debut a little later than expected.

The Pasadena Playhouse in California said Friday it will push the show's premiere from the end of the current 2011-2012 season to the 2012-2013 season. It had been expected to start production this June.

Producer David Shor said in a statement he felt it was essential not to rush a show based on such an "iconic" movie.

The musical will be a retelling of the 1993 film that starred Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

The stage version will have music and lyrics by Michelle Citrin, Michael Garin and Josh Nelson. It will have a book by Jeff Arch, who wrote the film's original story and co-wrote the screenplay.
