This last decade has been .6 degrees warming than 1951-1980. Nice 30 year time frame to pick you hack! This just shows how the climate change chickens pick and choose their data to match their religious view.
U.S News and World Report needs a new editor.

So some yahoo believes just because the top Google searches show some blogs, those blogs must be true? Hey, look down to the scientific ones. You know, the ones from scientific places. Do you know what science means?
CDB: Read further yourself - warmest relative to what? If I take any trend over a short enough period of time, especially a specific period of time, and leave out the past 1000+ years, it loses it's frame of reference. If the natural variation shows that it's been significantly cooler in the past (read: Ice Age), and then there was a short warming optimum (or Medieval Warming Period), and then a short Little Ice age, the short term trend back up in the normal pattern will look like an "abnormal" rise. These are very things that were revealed in the UEA CRU emails - that playing with Excel graphs to tweak the appearance of trends to favor your pre-conceived "reality is unethical. Of course every business does these kinds of things - and now the Green Industry has to resort to it as well to keep the massive funding for research rolling in.... No different than the Oil and coal company shills who denied the climate temperature was changing at all at first. The truth is in the middle, and as always, much more complex than it appears on the surface.

wow. I am stunned but not surprised to see the pablum spewed again AFTER the revelation of the "science" cheats. The planet is just fine thank you Mr. Gore. Each day I awake and thank God for Florida in 2000 - what a mess you would have made.... you probably thank them too.... $$$$

where in the hell has mr.hanley been? mr. hanley is reading the climate report that is a fraud as mr. hanley very will knows.but yet he still chooses to spread the plate of lies he's been served.that's right you take the easy way of lieing to the american people.you & people like you are the lowest form of humanity. more & more people are realizing that the truth is the last 9 years have been cooler.but that's not what drives you is it mr. hanley? this climate control is nothing other than a veicle for the high tax on the american people in history.but still you could cae less about them.they know have the written e-mails admiting they lied about the record keeping of the climate control & most likely will be charged with many cases of fraud & kicked out of the science community.but you go ahead & stay on the dark side of history where you have been most of your wasted life. skr

Northpal, the 1990s WERE the warmest decade and technically still are since the 2000s have a month left to go. However, unless the planet suddenly freezes solid this month, 2000-2009 is going to be much warmer than 1990-1999 was. So it'll be 2000s warmest, 1990s second warmest, 1980s third warmest... according to ALL global temperature data sets (including the UAH satellite results compiled by two global warming 'skeptics'). The bit about the 1930s being the warmest is in reference to the continental US only, not globally.
Look for yourself. Below are the SKEPTIC numbers. Every other data set shows MORE warming than these;
A P ...A F ? doesn't have quite the ring, but 'Associated Frauds' is becoming an increasingly more accurate descriptor ... arrogance? ignorance? or just weak minds easily conditioned? ...Wait... is this guy connected to the teleprompter feed?...

Perhaps Mr. Hanley can explain why the polar ice
caps on Mars are shrinking. And they consist of CO2.

Huh?! Now this assertion really puzzled me. The 1990s were the warmest decade, so where on Earth has Hanley gotten this idea from? Googling the phrase "warmest decade of the 20th century", of the top 20 results eighteen give a date - fifteen refer to the 1990s, and three refer to the 1930s. If you actually look at these three links though, they refer to the local climate in Sioux Falls and Iceland, although the former isn't clear that it's referring to local climate unless you look at the index page of the site.
Hanley also pushes demands for $10 billion a year or more up front to corrupt UN facilitators who are running the shakedown racket.
