So many defenders of Anthropogenic Global Warming Theory attack questioners or critics as not being qualified by education. Yet they follow their great leader Al Gore who allegedly couldn't get a decent grade in any higher education science course. Incredible hypocrisy and ignorance.
They clearly don't know what education means or does, especially today when it has become so much more indoctrination in specific alleged facts and conclusions of the moment (and of the particular professors), than the ability to objectively understand and analyse new information and design objective experiments that will properly further test concepts.
"Political Science" is destroying real scientific questioning, understanding, and "give and take", just when the stakes are so high and consequence so dire.
It is crucial that we have brave journalists and media who will present all sides and keep their opinions for the Opinion Pages.

The emails from the UK reflect the need for scientific debate and not broad brush dismissal of individuals who have the nerve to ? the "experts". The demonization of the few who have been courageous to challenge all those on the global warming conga line is perhaps now brought to question. The lads in the UK remind me of a bunch of failing college "D" level sophomores fudging data for their lab reports to make it come out the way they thought it should. And....oh my they accidently dumped the data???? The price of carbon credit futures (do we have those yet?)may be in deep dudu. Al Gore and friends may not make as much money off this deal as they once thought. Cap and Trade....the gov't may need some other slight of hand to get another pint of blood from us all.
Lets hear it from the polar bears...what is the current count and amount? Planet wobble anyone? Dropping temperatures or are we being deceived the temperature is not climbing at rates being shouted from from the GIGO boys.
As always the truth is somewhere in between the positions. Let sanity and scientific inquiry determine it..not the press, politicians and other bandwagon passengers.

Those evil Republicans, with their facts and scientific method! Don't they know that the ends justify the means?
Though you desperately tried to spin this as something other than completely disastrous for liberals, Democrats, the media, and the 'scientific community' (BIRM), it does count as an official acknowledgement of Climategate in US News, and that's truly a miracle. 1 cheer for USN&WR.

It's often helpful to look at where spokespeople for or against something are coming from, to see how it is their training and background prepare them to become critics of, say, scientific consensus. Let's look at James M. Inhofe since he's chosen to get into the business of critiquing a fairly sizable body of scientific research involving climate change/global warming.
Inhofe, before his first elected office in Oklahoma in l966, was a businessman and land developer. He didn't go to Oxford or Cambridge to read climate science; he went to the University of Tulsa, his highest degree a B.A. Not a PhD in meteorology or the history of weather patterns, a B.A. that led him into business and land development.
Not to worry. He's in on something scientists aren't--that global warming/climate change might be a nasty scam promoted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Some e-mails cast doubt on the whole IPCC position, the "smoking gun" the political Right has been hoping for all these years.
Have climate scientists recanted their position? No. Have the hundreds of credentialed individuals involved begun lining up outside confessionals begging forgiveness for wrongdoing? No.
We wait, Senator Inhofe, for more than politics as usual from you and others on the Right who have yet again seized upon whatever comes your way in order to prop up your agenda and fool your base. We wait for more than what Rush Limbaugh, who didn't even make it to a B.A., has been saying since the late 1980's: "Global warming is a scam." We wait for more than assertions backed by a few to attack the many, Senator Inhofe. We're patient.
And you thought being mayor of Tulsa was a challenge.

This is not about a "slew of hacked emails rolling around the Internet," nor is this a "fuss over the emails." This is about obfuscation, non-cooperation, emails that hint at a cover-up, emails that clearly demonstrate that an agenda had overcome all scientific rationale and collaboration as they also show that scientists trying to twist and change data and prevent other viewpoints from being published. This is a very sad day for objective science and truly calls into question the theory of global warming and certainly the theory that temperature changes are man-made.
Let's look at the facts First, There has been concern about the data presented by the IPCC for years--and this is the organization that not only Europe but the United States relies on. As a result of this concern (as well as the admission that much of the original temperature data was "lost" in the l980's), all the primary scientific research was requested by outsiders. Yet requests were refused, so additional demands were made of the IPCC & CRU under British Freedom of Information Act. The CRU still stonewalled--a criminal offense--and then someone hacked into their site and found these terribly destructive (to the CRU scientists) emails. Secondly, although the mainstream media, including apparently US News has refused to print these emails because they were hacked/stolen (which certainly never prevented the NY Times and others publishing military or state secrets that damage this country), the newspapers in Britain and Europe have. You can see them by visiting the Telegraph (London) website at Telegraph.co.uk and searching their site. They are hugely damaging.
Thirdly, in 2003 Canadian statistician Steve McIntyre exposed the fundamental flaw in the "hockey stick" which was the image that first created the fuel for the global warming campaign; the one Al Gore still uses. This created more concerns about the very credibility of the CRU's work--and now the CRU (Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia) emails have exposed yet another crack--even more more incriminating--were email messages from climate change scientists asking for scientific data to be deleted so it could not be turned over! You would have thought US News would have found this somewhat interesting, but the writer of this article was obviously distracted or was not alert.
Fourth, still other emails show that "scientists" worked diligently to manipulate the data through "tortious computer programmes" (source: Telegraph) to lower past temperatures and to "adjust" more recent temperatures upwards "in order to convey the impression of accelerated warming." And the problems go on. There are other emails that show the scientists' desperation at their difficulty in getting the results to come out the way that they wish them to be. Respected scientists on both sides of the climate change debate are now calling for an investigation.
There must be an investigation--but will it happen?
