I hope I'm wrong but I feel that Obama only won this race by being a person of color. He has absolutely no experience and his choices for friends tell me something about his character I hope I'm wrong but this election has been vary underhanded by Obama and his assoation with acorn should have awakened alot of voters. The early vote was also a factor people who voted early found out about his agenda too late. Everybody get your turbans out of storage you'll be needing them.

My vote for Obama was not based on his skin color and I am white. I voted for Obama as I think he was the better candidate for the U.S. I did "my homework" and I was totally against McCain's smear ads, his health care policy and tax breaks for the rich. Why should my health care benefits be taxed to pay for everyone else? That is NOT the way to get health care for everyone in the U.S. I pay too much taxes as it is and he wanted more? I DON'T THINK SO! Wise up McCain's backers; You can't honestly think he was the better candidate! McCain voted with President Bush 90% of the time. If that's not another 4 years of Bush, I don't know what is. I am so proud of my home state (Ohio) for finally voting for the right man. We are in the 21st Century now, but some people in the U.S. are still in the dark ages - looking at a man's skin color to judge him worthy. I am saddened by that, but happy that most of the U.S. has come about.

We cannot exist in a single-party government in the United States; the political parties have more power than the common person, and so the GOP must keep the filibuster power and prevent the Democrats from having a 60+ majority in the Senate. The whole point of separation of power and checks and balances is to prevent on person/group from having complete control -- including a single party.

This has certainly been an historic accomplishment that has been too long in coming. I do believe that Colin Powell could have easily won earlier had he chose to run in the last election. I hope that America can officialy now be declassified as a racist country because a majority of white voters supported Barack Obama. The flip side of this is that most black voters supported Mr. Obama only because of race. So we now have to be cautious of being considered racist in that manner.

Congratulations President Obama and best wishes as you lead our country into the future!!!
