Suddenly remembering the fearmongering about Jack Kennedy.
Back when I was at high school I attended a Baptist church service in Missouri with a friend. Some loon stood up and announced that if Kennedy won the election the "Pope was going to issue machine guns to all the catholics and they'd take over."
Some things never change.

I'd be interested in seeing more facts coming from Obama and his supporters,in fighting the negatives as opposed to simply denying and calling them simple smears. I also include most of the mainstream media in the Obama supporter group.

I am an Obama supporter, but even if I weren't, I would have to ask - how does the McCain camp get away with such OBVIOUS falsehoods? Even one so fundamental as saying Barack Obama has NO ACCOMPLISHMENTS. No accomplishments? Excuse me? Don't you even count the fact that he is a U.S. senator? Or how about the fact that he is the Democratic nominee for the presidency of the most powerful country in the world? I tuned in to "The View", unfortunately, and I saw Elizabeth Hasslebeck say "Barack Obama has no accomplishments." I waited for one of the supposed liberals on the panel to just at least point out the obvious to her. No one did. If Obama accomplished nothing else in life, which obviously he has, wouldn't those achievments be considered major accomplishments on their own merits? The reason politicians (and others) get away with lying and misrepresenting the truth is because they are virtually never called on it. When are we going to stand up and demand that our leaders tell us the truth?

You can fact check what follows. I am concerned about all the lobbyists that are running McCain's campaign. The lobbyists for McCain, including Rick Davis, Mark Buse Steve Schmidt, Charles Black, and Mark McKinnnon, are key players in lobbying firms for J P Morgan, Goldman Sachs, General Motors, Fannie Mae, and other large firms.
Does big business have McCain in their pockets?
Why does McCain think it's fair to use $300 billion of taxpayer's money to bail out the very banks that made the predatory types of mortgage loans that led to the current financial crisis? His plan helps these banks most and rewards their bad behavior. Look for yourselves. Action speaks louder than words.

Hey OldGuy of TX, its spelled 'Hussein' and 'Patriotic'. I figured if you could spell anything right, these two words would be it. And yes, I've given all the change in my pocket and more to the Obama campaign.

I agree with the above comment... if anyone should attempt to take Obama out, McCain, and especially Palin, should be held accountable. I never thought I'd see such fascist-style rabble rousing by anyone so strongly affiliated with the government in this country.
