John McCain's campaign today took a page from former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's playbook and launched a Web ad that mocks what both camps have characterized as the media's swoon over presumed Democratic nominee Barack Obama.
With Frankie Valli's 1967 hit "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" playing in the background, the "Obama Love" ad features Clinton strategists Terry McAuliffe and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell suggesting that the media favor Obama and a host of cable pundits either talking up Obama (including the famous clip of MSNBC's Chris Matthews recalling a "thrill running up my leg" when he heard the Democrat speak) or taking on the media for what they perceive as their fawning coverage of the candidate.
Expected GOP nominee McCain is not mentioned.
The ad—which closes with the tagline "Do you feel that thrill running up your leg yet?"—can be seen here.
