Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., are probably pretty bummed that their Kentucky Wildcats didn’t win the Big Dance, but at least they now have cheese hats.

That’s because the Kentucky senators collected on a wager they made with Sens. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and Ron Johnson, R-Wis., over the Final Four game between the Wildcats and Wisconsin Badgers. Kentucky won, so McConnell and Paul got cheesehead hats filled with bratwurst and – you guessed it – cheese.

Of course, Paul and McConnell had to pony up their own wares for Kentucky’s ultimate loss against the Connecticut Huskies. The duo gave Kentucky Derby-Pie from Kern’s Kitchen in Louisville, Ky., to Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Chris Murphy, D-Conn.

“This team deserves a national title and I look forward to a big portion of humble pie from my friends from Kentucky,” Murphy said in a statement when the foursome placed the bet.

“A bet’s a bet!” Blumenthal tweeted when he got his pie on Thursday. “Tastes like victory,” Murphy added.
