Actor Bradley Cooper, who speaks French, is bringing along his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, making the Tuesday night dinner with French President Francois Hollande guaranteed tabloid fodder. (Then again, Hollande’s own love life has already gotten this dinner plenty of ink.)
If the French president needs lady advice, he can turn to Cosmopolitan magazine editor Joanna Coles, who’s also invited. She’s joined by fellow New York City media powerhouse, The New York Times’ executive editor, Jill Abramson. Also in town from the Big Apple is actress Mindy Kaling, who was Instagramming hints all day Tuesday she would be heading to the White House for dinner with the French.
There will be plenty of Veepin’ with Vice President Joe Biden on hand with his HBO counterpart actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus of “Veep” fame. Biden’s son Hunter and wife Kathleen are also coming to the fete, which will feature entertainer Mary J. Blige and a three-course all-American meal, plus dessert. (There’s even cotton candy!)
Other notables that caught Whispers' eye included former NBA player Jason Collins, CNN head Jeff Zucker and inventor Elon Musk.
And while House Speaker John Boehner declined his invitation, other Republicans will be there, including former vice presidential candidate, Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.
