Fresh off his interview with President Barack Obama, CNN’s Jake Tapper will soon be able to cross something else off his bucket list: Tapper will be mayor of Denver for a day. (Or, at least part of one day.) That’s because Tapper and Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock made a Super Bowl bet, which involved a job swap. If Denver won, Hancock would get to anchor Tapper’s show for a segment. But since the Broncos choked, Tapper will take over the mayor’s city instead.
Meanwhile, Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., will be eating well because of a bet they made with Sens. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., and Mark Udall, D-Colo. Murray and Cantwell will receive Colorado-raised bison from Tony’s market, peaches from Palisade, Colo., and a gift certificate to Elway’s, a Colorado-based steakhouse. Had the Broncos not blown it, Udall and Bennet would have received smoked salmon from the Nisqually Indian Tribe, sauces and honey from Honey Ridge Farms and “12 Man” cupcakes from Seattle’s Cupcake Royale.
