Michelle Obama's Birthday Fundraising Has Begun

Help her blow out those candles by donating to Democrats.

There's something nifty about Michelle Obama turning 50. The Democrats can use her January 17 birthday to raise some campaign cash. On Thursday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent out one of what we're sure will be many fundraising pleas in disguise as a birthday card for the first lady.

"We want to send her a card with 100,000 well-wishes from some of her biggest fans," the email read. "We thought you'd like to be part of it!" Signing the card takes supporters to a donation page with suggested donations reaching from $15 to $1,000. And anyone who donates more than $3 will get an "Americans for Obamacare" bumper sticker.

Dems did the same thing when President Barack Obama turned 50 in 2011 - and he even attended a swanky fundraiser in Chicago. Because, you know, any excuse for a money-raising party, right?
