Bad boy singer Chris Brown wasn't the only "celebrity" spotted at D.C. Superior Court Wednesday. A spokeswoman for the Supreme Court confirmed that Justice Elena Kagan was on hand as well, having been called for jury duty.
No word on whether Kagan, who's served on the bench since August of 2010, was selected for a case. Back in January 2011, she also was called for jury duty in D.C. and was dismissed after spending her day quietly reading, ABC News reported. On Wednesday, it was The Associated Press' Mark Sherman who tweeted that Kagan was back.
Later in the day, Brown returned to court for a status hearing dealing with an incident that occurred outside the W Hotel in Washington in October. A 20-year-old Maryland man accused the star of hitting him outside the hotel in an early morning scuffle.
Unfortunately, the stars didn't fully align. A Superior Court spokeswoman told Whispers that since Brown was only in town for a hearing and wouldn't be going before a jury, there's no way he and Kagan would cross paths in the courtroom.
