New Jersey pols win Twitter during snowstorm.

Here's something New Jersey partisans have in common: Twitter prowess. Both Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., updated constituents regularly by tweet as winter storm Hercules covered the Garden State in snow.

Booker booked it back to Newark, N.J., and live-tweeted his snow shoveling efforts, even telling a journalist who snapped a photo of the senator at work to "next time put down the camera [and] pick up a shovel."

Thanks 4 the visit Brian but next time put down the camera & pick up a shovel MT @brian4NY: Cory Booker n Nwk #nbc4ny

While Christie wasn't as hands on, he was certainly snappy. When the newspaper USA Today tweeted out a story and asked, "Did you like snow days more when you were a kid?"

The governor replied, "Obviously. Is this a real question?"

Then the Twitter account for the fictional "Newsroom" character Will McAvoy suggested people read Christie's snow day Tweets.

"Better than the Price is Right," @WillMcAvoyACN wrote.

Christie zinged right back.

"Well, certainly better than the Newsroom," the governor wrote.

The two New Jersey politicians also used their Twitter accounts to dole out directions and smart advice. Christie urged constituents to stay indoors and not go sledding yet or to the gym. Booker suggested that Twitter followers consider joining his shoveling crew.

Yeah such a shame MT @erinlevine @GovChristie said i shouldn't venture on the roads so i GUESS that means i can't go to the gym.SUCH A PITY.
