Longtime "Price is Right" host Bob Barker is lending his support to Florida congressional candidate David Jolly, filming an ad for the Republican hopeful touting, "with Jolly, the choice is right."
"Folks, when you get to be as young as I am, you call it like you see it. That's why I'm supporting David Jolly for Congress," Barker says in the advertisement, which was released online Wednesday.
On Thursday, Barker came back to the set of the "Price is Right" to mark his 90th birthday. Jolly's ad, according to Roll Call, aired alongside Barker's return during commercial breaks.
Barker was a fan of the late Rep. C.W. "Bill" Young, R-Fla., who died at the age of 82 in October.
"I admired David as he worked alongside my good friend Bill Young, helping wounded veterans, protecting our seniors and children and standing up for Pinellas with character and honor," Barker says in the ad, referring to the county that surrounds St. Petersburg.
In this special election for Florida's 13th congressional district, Jolly, a lobbyist, is up against Florida state Rep. Kathleen Peters in the Jan. 14 GOP primary. The winner of that race will most likely face Democrat Alex Sink in the March 11 general election, in what's considered to be a pretty purple district.
