Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came to Washington Thursday night to wish progressive think tank, Center for American Progress, a Happy 10th Birthday. In her very stoic speech she criticized politicians for choosing "scorched earth over common ground" and talked about a country "careening from crisis to crisis." Feeling very much like a presidential campaign, her remarks attracted reporters from nearly every major media outlet in town.
Afterward, politician Hillary Clinton was replaced briefly by human Hillary Clinton, as she joked with CAP's president Neera Tanden and chair John Podesta over a hot mic. “When does the cake come out?” she asked. “I was going to jump out of the cake.”
