Going simply by @Madeleine, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright joined Twitter Monday morning and expressed the move the way she always does – with a pin.

Albright tweeted a picture of herself on her Blackberry and then a close-up of a "Tweet" brooch, alongside her first tweet. "First of 3 female SecState's - last to join Twitter. Better late than never!" she wrote.

Albright also described herself as a "grateful American Czech immigrant, mother & grandmother, frm SecState, passionate democrat, author, prof, bizwoman, pin collector, & occasional drummer."

As for that last classification, in February 2011, Albright famously joined musician Chris Botti on stage at the Kennedy Center and pounded away on the drums during the song Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. Afterward, she was spotted leaving the performance venue, drumstick in hand.
