Radio Talk Show Host Plans 'Impeach Obama March' for Flag Day

Less than a month after radio talk show host Adam Kokesh announced a much-talked-about open carry march on Washington for Independence Day, another talk show host has announced he is planning an "Impeach Obama March" on Washington for Flag Day, June 14.

Carl Boyd Jr., who hosts the conservative talk show "Nothing But The Truth" in Nashville, says the inspiration for the march didn't come from Kokesh but instead from the three scandals currently plaguing the Obama administration: the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Justice and Benghazi, Libya.

Over the past several weeks, the IRS acknowledged it had inappropriately targeted conservative groups, the DOJ seized the records of reporters at the Associated Press and Fox News, and the controversy over Benghazi came to a head after the White House released talking points on the attack.

"I was looking at all of these scandals, and I thought: How much more can the American people take of this?" Boyd says. "They were about to impeach Richard Nixon. I think Obama has done far worse."

Boyd isn't the first to suggest impeachment in recent weeks. As Whispers reported earlier this month, a number of conservative groups have used the multiple scandals to push the "I" word, including a birther group, an anti-immigration PAC and a super PAC that worked on former tea party Rep. Allen West's 2012 recount.

The public has also displayed its frustration with the mounting controversies. An ABC/Washington Post poll released earlier this week found 74 percent of respondents thought the actions of the IRS were "inappropriate" while 55 percent thought the Obama administration was deliberately "trying to cover up the facts" on the Benghazi attack.

Obama's approval rating, however, has remained unchanged over the last few months.

The Impeach Obama March is picking up steam mostly on Twitter and Facebook, where more than 500 people have said they'd attend. At noon Friday, Boyd will appear on the Rush Limbaugh show, a far-right show that calls itself "the most listened to radio talk show in America," to drum up more support for the march. Boyd also claims he is meeting with staffers at House Speaker John Boehner's office, something Whispers could not immediately confirm.

The constitution gives the House of Representatives "the sole power of impeachment" of the president.
