As Hurricane Sandy wreaks havoc on the Obama and Romney campaigns, the frankenstorm has made her political inclinations clear in at least one place: Twitter.

The @AHurricaneSandy Twitter account, which has garnered almost 200,000 followers since it was created Saturday, is mixing tweets about super-soaking the country with insults directed at Mitt Romney.

Hurricane Sandy's tweet "I move my body like a cyclone," for example, came on the heels of another tweet that read: "Mitt Romney looks like someone who would try to make 'fetch' happen."

That dig is a reference to a scene from the movie "Mean Girls," in which one character tries to make "fetch" into a word for "cool" and a more popular character tells her to "stop trying to make fetch happen."

The person behind the @AHurricaneSandy is Elijah Daniel, a comedian and producer in Detroit who works on shows for MTV. Daniel insults Romney fairly often on his personal Twitter feed.

But the political tweets from the Hurricane Sandy account drew consternation from some Monday, who thought parody accounts should stay apolitical.

"Should have know[n] Hurricane Sandy was a Democrat," wrote one Maryland resident (and a likely Republican) on Twitter. "She's messing everything up."
