Pulitzer Prize-winner Berates D.C. Media Blog For 'Cruel Bullying'

June 6, 2012 RSS Feed Print

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Gene Weingarten, known as much for his humor writing as his gravitas, went on the attack Tuesday.

His target: Fishbowl DC, a Washington politics and media blog known for its bevy of mean-spirited posts.

Weingarten took issue with a post by the site's editor, Betsy Rothstein, about a Washington Post intern. The post mocked the intern for having an internal bio that explained the Post's Graham family to Post employees.

In the past, Rothstein's post have also criticized children and the chests of female journos.

Full disclosure: I previously worked at the Washington Post, and was the subject of a Fishbowl post while employed there.
