Even Beloved Bob McDonnell Can't Save Romney in Virginia

To Mrs. D of CA: Go back to school my friend. You need to look behind the shrill propaganda about federal salaries. The fed workforce gets compared to private sector, largely without accounting for the fact that the lower paying federal positions have shrunk in numbers - largely contracted out, etc. The people shilling the pay disparity know this, but count on you and others NOT being aware. When jobs/education levels in the fed and private sector are compared apples to apples, Feds are on the short end of the stick. Yes, I live in high cost Northern VA on one federal salary, raising seven (yes, 7) children (who will all make meaningful contributions to society, I promise you), when as a lawyer I could be making far more in private practice from insurance companies in front of juries. Instead, I grapple with mind numbing bureaucracy, inadequate clerical and non-existent paralegal support, and complete lack of recognition from superiors - all because I would rather uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic than grow wealthy manipulating the judgment-happy legal system which saps the vitality of our nations industrial, commercial and medical fields. But I refuse to remain silent when I read uninformed posts such as yours. O, and you're welcome - by the way.

I would think that a lot of people in Virginia and Maryland work for the Federal Government. They won't do anything to jeopardize their jobs. The GOP has called for downsizing through attrition only. So their fears are mostly unfounded. In any case, if the economy does not improve, there won't be any money to pay their inflated salaries. Romney is the only person with the expertise to get the economy under control and thereby save their jobs. Here is California, were are getting pretty close to the edge. No pun intended. Greece here we come.
