Danny Oppenheimer, associate professor of psychology and public policy at Princeton University, says research shows that people more often than not base their decisions on gut feelings. Researchers can even get a pretty good sense of who is going to win an election by exposing people to faces of the candidates for just 100 milliseconds, which is how long it takes to form a first impression, says Oppenheimer, co-author of Democracy Despite Itself: Why a System That Shouldn't Work at All Works So Well.

Duggar Mom Expresses Outrage at Susan G. Komen
Tweet Share on Facebook February 10, 2012 Comment (22)It's no secret Michelle Duggar isn't keen on birth control, but the TLC star and mother of 19 said Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference that she's also not happy with Susan G. Komen Foundation, which recently back peddled on their decision to pull funds from family planning agency Planned Parenthood.
Duggar argued that it's "ludicrous" for Susan G. Komen to stand by Planned Parenthood, when Duggar claims they are a leading performer of abortions in the country.

'Joe the Plumber' Says He's Handy on the Campaign Trail

The man who first made a name for himself by calling out Obama's tax plan during the 2008 election says he's got a "ground game," complete with hundreds of volunteers in the 9th District of Ohio, where he's running for the U.S. House of Representatives. Despite the support, Wurzelbacher admits he likes to answer his own E-mails, update his Facebook page and personally tweet his own messages to supporters.

Obama Picks Up Pointed Playlist
Tweet Share on Facebook February 9, 2012 CommentPresident Barack Obama rocked the Apollo Theater in January when he proved he could croon with the best of them, with his rendition of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together."
The Obama campaign took note and added it to an official playlist of 29 songs to be used in the 2012 campaign. Obama for America spokesperson Katie Hogan says campaign staff as well as volunteers submitted additional song recommendations for the list, which includes everything from James Taylor's "Your Smiling Face" to Montgomery Gentry's "This Is My Town." The series of Motown, blues and country western songs will set the mood during campaign fundraisers, speeches and appearances.
