@AMFIFLEMAN: Boy, you ARE out there. You need to get your aluminum hat adjusted. 1st, there is NO way we are anything close to, or getting closer to, NK/China/Cuba or any other 'communist/socialist' country. Spending policies that you dont approve does not make us a socialist nation. Grow up son. To say this implies a massive ignorance of what life, culture & govt rule is really like there. These people suffer. Your complaints are like the whining of a child in comparision. First of all, if it was, you wouldn't be able to say any of the BS you spew here. Not to friends, coworkers. Not even in the bosom of your family. I may consider it BS but I & any other American will defend your right to say it. Same with your gun. Despite alot of faux chest thumping & protest from the right, no one wants your guns. Really. You guys on the right are always ginned up to fight these imaginary wars over non issues. Wars on christmas! Oh my! Ah, but it keeps the faithful lathered up. I heard someone listening to right wing radio the other day. Not sure if it was Rush, Savage or some other pompous gas bag who is totally invested in keeping things agitated. Solutions would be bad for ratings. Anyway, this talking head was telling his listeners that if you aren't a Republican, you 'hate America, hate everything it stands for, and are no better than Al Queda'...and so on. It is crap like that the drove me from the GOP. I can't think of anything more un-American, more totalitarian ( as in Orwellian) than this kind of thinking. And that comes from retired military, someone who has taken that oath to protect & serve the Constitution MANY times. Give me true patriotism over partisanship, country over party ANY DAY.

And I salute & appreciate the 1st & 2nd Ladies' efforts on behalf of our families. Too few Americans have a clue what our military goes through, day-day, month-month, yr-yr. She has consistently focused on this, not as a campaign issue. She has been working on this since day 1. But I know I am wasting my time. You guys just WANT to hate her. But she has my respect & appreciation.

Funny how in the 18 months prior to the 2012 elections she suddenly becomes a huge supporter of vets and their families. This is nothing more than a vote grabbing scheme and apparently it's working. Where was her her support for military families 5, 10 or even 15 years ago? Where was her husbands support for military families 5, 10 or 15 years ago? They might change their tatics but they don't change their stripes. I am not buying it. Power is the only thing that concerns these people and getting votes by any means is the method to more power. Caveat emptor!

Let's see here..The 1st cow stated when he husband won the nomination for POTUS it was the first time she had ever been proud of her country. Our country.

Sorry to burst the authors bubble, but this is one Vet that has not even the faintest hint of respect for her or the ass she's married to!

@APOSTASYUSA

Republicans are for a USA government that is like our Founding Fathers had set it up for us. It's the reason we became the richest, freeest, most powerful nation on earth that has ever existed.

The old Democrat Party, on the other hand, is no more (RIP).

They have morphed into the US Socialist/Communist Party (although they still call themselves 'Democrats' for obvious reasons). This new Democrat Party (?) is basically the same as North Korea's, Cuba's, Venezuela's et al Communist Party, and is what George Orwell wrote about in his book "1984". That you hate Republicans only proves that you are a Socialist trying to destroy our country, and create a USSR--like "Workers Paradise". No wonder you and your ilk hate the very people who are in your way to that Communist goal.

AMRIFLEMAN, Could you be more full of it?

Republicans don’t care about spending. Republicans only care about money that we spend on education and healthcare.....but spending three trillion dollars we borrow from China on unnecessary war in Iraq.....

Halliburton approved!! 4500 dead Americans and 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians’ deaths later and now Republicans care about "life"? I think not.....

Are Republican voters deeply insane people?

I'm not going to touch a Republican with a 10 ft stick. Republicans are poison.

They might be able to rouse the bigots and some religious zealots telling other who they can marry but the Republican policies of lowering taxes and deregulating have unequivocally failed all but maybe 5% of Americans.

Sorry you old geezers, Obama and Democrats in 2012.

ApostasyUSA of CA 1:45PM December 30, 2011

This is a wonderfully positive piece to read about our Presidents wife (& VP's wife) as we close out 2011. I wonder how the haters are going to try & spin this one?
