Whispers Quiz: Would Obama Be Afraid to Debate Newt?

December 1, 2011 RSS Feed Print

Today we add a new feature, the Whispers quiz. And with the 2012 presidential race heating up, there's no better place to start than with this question: Is President Obama afraid to debate Newt Gingrich?

The former House speaker raised this question himself this week, telling a radio interviewer that if nominated, he'd like to stage several debates with Obama in the Lincoln-Douglas style of 1860. Obama is unlikely to agree to any more than the normal three debates, however.

"How does a Columbia/Harvard graduate, who was the editor of the law review, … supposedly the best orator in the Democratic Party," Gingrich said, "How does he look himself in the mirror and say he's afraid to debate a West Georgia College [now University of West Georgia] professor?"

So what do you think?

Obama isn't afraid to debate Newt, he is too into himself and egotisical he thinks he is always right .

I think the whole Democratic owned big media's push for Romney is largely Fake Rebublican or actual Democrats. 68 year old grandfather Newt would make the current administration look very bad in any debate. Clear to see Mitt would only play softball in debates. To keep the ticket strong, party zealots will always nominate who they have been brainwashed into thinking as most likely to win. The big money raised since 2008 for Democrats is already hard at work against the former Speaker.

I think Newt would devour Obama. He is much smarter and can recall history in a split second, compared to Obabma's constant stuttering while he searches for the exact right words.

I cannot understand how the country could ever re-elect Obama, especially after the decisions he is making by himself and bypassing the Congress. He is no leader. I also do not feel he is a legitimate President and think the birth issue should have been resolved so that he could not re-run for office.
