Oh, what "fantasy" are you referring to, See Dee? The 1938 military exercise led by Admiral Ernest King that found Pearl Harbor highly vulnerable to air attack? Or the one in 1932 with Admiral Yarnall which essentially proved the same? Oh, please, I'm cracking up already...lol

What I found even more hilarious was your justification for the Pacific Fleet's move to Pearl Harbor, because of Japanese aggression in Southeast Asia and China, which is of course, true, but coming from a Japanese perspective, how would that look? Like the U.S. is mobilizing for war against Japan, and then you add crippling embargoes on oil and steel...Then what do you expect the Japanese to do?

Oh, and least we forget to mention Joint Board 355, the secret plan hatched by FDR to bomb Japan using American pilots and planes disguised as the Chinese Air Force...Twenty years ago, the ABC News show 20/20 revealed it to the world...According to author Alan Armstrong, there's more to the story, like the fact that somebody leaked the plan to the Japanese, before the Pearl Harbor attack was planned....

Oh, how is it that the Honolulu Advertiser daily newspaper ended up with this headline a week before the Pearl Harbor bombing? Check the link for a picture of the actual headline...Oh and yes, it's authentic....The newspaper website does indicate it as well....I checked....

Final observation on this subject.

Westside reader, et al., the decision to move the main Pac Battle fleet to Pearl, was made some ten months BEFORE Pearl Harbor; and the main reason for the move was the Japanese aggression in SE Asia following the collapse of France in the summer of 1940 in Europe and their loss of power in what was then French Indo-China.

The Japanese had already claimed the former French 'colony' as within their 'sphere of influence, and were moving menacingly toward Indonesia (at the time, THE DUTCH EAST INDIES) with the objective of securing the oil-rich area for themselves.

According to reports I've seen many years ago, Adm. Richardson's main objection was that the contingent of battleships assigned to the Pacific Fleet (and deployed to Pearl) did NOT contain any of the NEW class of battleships...the USS North Carolina, the USS Washington, etc. which were retained in the Atlantic in case the British folded in the 'Blitz' which was underway at the time.

You 'conspiracy theorists' need to tell your made up fantasies to someone who did not live thru' those days.

"One thing that seems to be frequently forgotten when looking at the past - in addition to these tips about Hawaii, there were THOUSANDS of other tips that all seemed much more likely."

More likely? lol Like what? Like FDR keeping the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor in 1941 instead of its traditional headquarters in San Diego, over the objections of its commander Admiral James O. Richardson, who know it was greatly vulnerable to carrier based attacks due to previous military exercises? What's FDR's excuse then? lol

"Some 4,500 Americans were killed or wounded. As news of the surprise attack spread, William F. Friedman, an Army cryptanalyst who had helped to break the Japanese diplomatic "Purple" code, said to his wife repeatedly, "But they knew, they knew, they knew."

One thing that seems to be frequently forgotten when looking at the past - in addition to these tips about Hawaii, there were THOUSANDS of other tips that all seemed much more likely.

It's as if I tell you today that I have evidence of upcoming attacks on 10 cities, with 3 of them being the most likely to be reliable information. You start investigating the top 3, but due to the chaos of human interaction, it's #7 that actually ends up happening. Then everyone looks back and says "you ignored all of these clear signs!"

Consider this: All it would have taken to prevent Pearl Harbor from happening would have been 1 guy on the Japanese side changing his mind, orthe pilots meant to fly the mission got food poisoning from some bad rations, or an accident leading to their fuel reserves leaking, or an INFINITE number of other possibilities. This always seems to be ignored: It is impossible (mathematically, provably impossible) to predict the future. Period. When groups like the DHS, CIA, NSA, FBI, etc all run around trying to predict who is going to attack before they attack, they are guaranteed to be wrong and fail to choose the right information to listen to, the right information to ignore, AND have their actions sync up with the complex factors affecting any human action.

Everyone seems to think these guys sit around with nearly nothing to do, then a message shows up which says in big red letters "an attack is coming on this day, by these means, etc". No, they hear rumors and whispers about 5000 different attacks, none of which ever happen, and even though they have worked themselves up into a state of clinical paranoia that would get anyone else locked up as a danger to themselves and the public, they never hear a peep about the attacks that actually happen. This is not because they are not skilled. It is not because they don't have the tools they need. It is not even because we need to improve our science and ability to separate pertinent from unimportant information. The guarantee of them doing harm, and never doing good, comes from complexity. And complexity is mathematically proven to not be predictable through ANY means.

Davis was warned about Lincoln amassing 2 million troops to attack also wasnt he?

Jews were warned rabbi Uncle Adoph would be giving them gold stars to go to the safe haven camps to avoid the millions of Allied fire bombs coming too werent they?

Isnt it odd not a single fire bomb dropped on a camp but all the cities were decimated and they would have all perished in a real holocaust or death by fire?

Bush was warned about 911 many times too wasnt he?

"Japan is looking for military, naval, and commercial information" is quite different from "They are going to attack Pearl Harbor."

"FDR's failure to act on a basket load of tips that war was near..." Everybody knew war was near, and most expected a surprise attack. The attack was expected in the Philippines, perhaps, or Southeast Asia, but not on Hawaii. We didn't think the Japanese had the capability to mount a massive attack so far from their bases; in fact the US didn't have that kind of capability until a couple of years into the war. See

http://www.usni.org/magazines/navalhistory/2011-12/pearl-harbors-overlooked-answer

for details.

Saying that kind of thing isn't nearly as exciting as saying that we should have known the attack was coming and we dropped the ball. But it's a lot more accurate.

This book and the subject memo are insignificant when compared to results of previous research by other authors. One example of many: in the months before the Pearl Harbor attack, the US Carrier Saratoga simulated an aircraft carrier attack on Pearl Harbor from the exact location used by the Japanese. The specific reason Adm. Richardson was fired was because he objected to stationing the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor because it would tempt the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor with heavy losses to the USA. None of this information has anything to do with events of 9/11/2001, which were perpetrated by independent terrorists, not a sovereign nation using its military forces. So what else is new?
