Bachmann Restarts Bid With New Book

Bachman is in so many ways an attractive candidate. Like her, I am a staunch supporter of the Constitution. Unfortunately, I can't support her because of her myopic view of that hallowed document. The Constitution outline a wonderful political system for a new nation that has grown and changed in ways the framers could not imagine. These members of the 18th century intellectual and political elite were wise enough to ensure that the system was a dynamic and plastic one that could change as the situation changed. Hence, both the amendment system and the elastic clause. These men, many of whom were considered dangerously liberal in their day, handed us a flexible framework that has allowed this nation to adapt to a world changing more rapidly and in more ways than most of us, myself included, find entirely comfortable. Ms. Bachmann's desire to return to an older, simpler view of the document is both poor history and poor statecraft. There are no simple solutions to the complex economic, social and political problems we face today. Ideologues from either party only offer platitudes, slogans and simple-minded, albeit sincere, plans that just are impractical in today's world. I am neither a liberal nor a Democrat. What I am is a pragmatist looking for a candidate with a 21st century approach to some serious 21st century questions.

Why vote for a Ron Paul wannabe when you can vote for the REAL Ron Paul?

God bless Michelle Bachmann, and courageous conservatives who advocate nothing but the restoration of the individual liberties granted by our constitution, that have been eroded by the big-government, big-spending "liberals" who spout platitudes, but simply enrich the interest groups that support their money laundering, Democrat campaign funding schemes.

No matter how you repackage her, she will NEVER win a primary or the general election. Too wacky, not to bright (makes Palin look brilliant), and while some my like hard core conservativeism, she is on the creepy end, with spooky skeletons in her closet. Obey my husband no matter what, praying cures the gay, don't touch yourself its a sin. Americans, even hard core conservatives, don't want that If Christians had form of shari law, she would pass it.

She needs to step down, and stop being a distraction and an embarrassment.

Michele Bachmann is an All-American. She is a great person, great candidate and will be a great President.

I love and want Michelle as Newt's next-strongest conservative VP. She has unquestioned conservative boa fides, but lacks in experience with the press and in debate. It's a no-brainer. I just stop and ask myself: it's October of 2012, President Obama is spending $1B beating up the Republican, who do I want to have debate Obama to draw clarity? I think most people end up thinking Newt is clearly a better debater than the other candidates, he has supreme command of every issue, and can articulate in plain English what Obama did wrong and why it is wrong for America that Obama to be President for a second term. Many things distinguish Newt from the other candidates: The scale of the solutions that he proposes is much more comprehensive, he has actually accomplished big changes in the past, he helped his create a national majority twice, in 1980 and 1994, he passed entitlement reform and a second reform, Medicare, which was done so well nobody noticed it. (AARP was for it, the Democrats didn't oppose it.) He also pushed Bill Clinton to agree to a series of balanced budgets. Nobody else running comes anywhere close to that amount of achievement.

"In the seventies, Carter taught me what I was against, and then in the eighties, Reagan taught me what I was for."

Is M. Bachman...'High'?

Ronald 'Teflon' Reagan had a pet-name for his pious-homicidal-pet, the late O. Bin-Ladin: "Freedom Fighter". It was such a bizarre relationship the late G. Carlin joked, "If fire fighters fight against fires, what do

'freedom fighters' fight against?"

It was funnier when Carlin delivered the line.

Are stolen 'Iran-contra' weapons being used, (c/o of Iran), against U.S forces in Iraq?

An estimated 1-1.5 million civilians died as a result of U.S. military aid to the contras, Chile's A. Pinochet, in Argrentina's 'dirty war', in El-Salvadore & Guatamala, etc.

That's quite a body count for a 'prolife administration isn't it?!

I wish I could vote for Bachmann, Santorum, Palin, Gingrich, Cain and Trump. They are all worthy. Michelle Bachmann has a long-time conservative record which sets her apart as a particularly desirable candidate.
