Bachmann: Media, Not Voters, Picking Winners

November 14, 2011 RSS Feed Print

Michele Bachmann just weighed in on "Debategate," telling Whispers that the media is trying to pick the Republican presidential winner, cutting voters out of the process.

"There's always a suspicion of maybe a bias and I guess this just confirmed it," she said of a CBS memo before Saturday's debate, which suggested that the Minnesota Republican congresswoman would be ignored during the foreign policy chatfest.

The memo, she said, "demonstrates that the media wants to choose who our nominee will be and who the next president of the United States will be." [See a slide show of who's in and out for the GOP in 2012.]

She added that "it's the same as the government choosing winners and losers. It shouldn't."

Bachmann said that she is frustrated with her lack of media play and attention during the debate. She called the race for the nomination "absolutely fluid" with candidates dropping or rising weekly.

"If the media decides based on current polling how much time the candidates get [in debates]. They are trying to determine that ultimate outcome and influence it," she said. The solution, she added, is giving candidates equal time to answer questions. [Vote now: Who is your pick for the 2012 GOP nomination?]

And, she said, she won't protest or boycott CBS. "Oh, no, no," she said. "The media will do what they're going to do."

Media bias? Does Ms. Bachmann mean to tell me that the media is preventing the public from hearing the views of qualified candidates?

Tell it to Ron Paul.

If, the unbiased media really thing Michele Bachman is as dumb as they claim, why not shower her with questions? If she cannot answer them they are proven correct. If she hits them out of the park, well then, the unbiased media will have egg on their faces now won't they?

Ho-hum...C'mon Michele it isn't the media that's responsible for you drop to 5% in the polls. It's YOU! You just don't look, sound, or act presidential even though I agree with most of your ideas. And wearing your Christianity on your forehead doesn't help with a lot of folks. Religion shouldn't be part of a presidential election and again while I can agree abortion is wrong it's just one more of the things that government, especially the federal government, should be involved in, either pro or con.
