Glenn Beck's Dark Christmas Story of Abuse

November 9, 2011 RSS Feed Print

Conservative radio host Glenn Beck has been wanting to tell a story for years, one that he hopes will "wake those up who've been trained to believe in lies like 'it's my fault,' 'it's not so bad,' 'he won't do it again,' or 'verbal abuse isn't really abuse,'" he says in the introduction to his book The Snow Angel.

The Christmas-themed novel takes on domestic abuse and describes the internal struggle that women face, an issue apparently quite personal. In the book's dedication, Beck lists his mother, "who lost her way."

Asked whether the novel is autobiographical and based on the experiences of his mother, Beck's publisher said, "It's a fictionalized account based on some of the issues Glenn faced in his own family."
