Mitt Romney a Sure Bet for GOP Nomination

October 17, 2011 RSS Feed Print

Political gamblers are putting down bets that President Obama will be a one-term president, replaced by Mitt Romney in the 2012 elections.

According to Intrade, the online trading market where users bet on upcoming news events, Obama stands only a 47 percent chance of being re-elected and the GOP is favored by nearly 50 percent to win.

Here are the latest odds and predictions from Intrade

1. Mitt Romney to be the Republican presidential nominee: 67.3 percent.

2. Rick Perry to be the Republican presidential nominee: 13.3 percent.

3. Barack Obama to be re-elected president in 2012: 47.6 percent.

4. Herman Cain to be the GOP nominee: 8.9 percent.

5. Chances the eventual GOP nominee will beat Obama: 49.5 percent.

6. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to be the 2012 GOP running mate: 25.5 percent.

7. Republicans to control the Senate after the 2012 elections: 71 percent.

There is not enough difference between Romney and Obama to motivate me to get out and vote.

RON PAUL 2012! ALL THE OTHER GOP CANDIDATES GET THEIR FUNDING FROM CORPORATIONS WHICH ARE NOT PEOPLE (CONTRARY TO WHAT MITT ROMNEY THINKS)! RON PAUL GETS MORE DONATIONS FOR THE MILITARY THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE! DID I MENTION RON PAUL IS A DOCTOR AND ACTUALLY SERVED IN THE MILITARY! WHILE CAIN WORKED FOR FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS? DO YOU WANT ANOTHER BANKSTER AS YOUR LEADER?

Romney is too damned liberal for my tastes, but I can see where people would think he's a shew-in at this point. The conservative media that we count on to give good republicans a voice are failing us. First they gawk over that attention-whore Trump. They then shift gears and fawn over that dumbo Palin. Finally they split time between an actually viable candidate, Perry, and that inexperienced Obama-like Cain.

Can the media please stop pretending this is American Idol and let the real republicans speak out? Paul, Huntsman, and Perry are now getting as much attention as my wife's 30 year old pair of bell-bottoms and it's a shame.
