"Have they been to the DMV lately?"

Get a clue - Department of Motor Vehichle (DMV) employees aren't federal civil servants, they're employees of the state.

"One clear finding: federal employees continue to be dedicated to their jobs and to accomplishing their missions. Employees are willing to give extra effort, are looking for ways to do their jobs better, and believe their work is important,"

Have they been to the DMV lately?

If every time you went to read the paper or watch TV news you saw yourself demonized as a lazy, overpaid moron would you have job satisfaction?

This is especially true if you have to clock in early, and then are expected to stay late with no chance at OT.

The fact is the vast majority of government workers are just workers, and they work just as hard as private sector workers. Who pays them is the only difference.

But you don't hear private sector workers -- except union workers, a vanishing breed -- demonized on FOX, CNN, WSJ, or even the GOP debates etc. every day. No, we "taxpayers" decide to denigrate our own employees, then wonder why they aren't happy.

Maybe it's because their bosses are jerks.

(P.S. I am management in the private sector, not a government or union worker.)
