Navy SEALs Reveal Bin Laden Killing Story

"heroic story"? Really? They presumably shot and killed a sick, old, (albeit evil and twisted, too) man in front of his family. It's not even as if they had to take down a fortress, is it? Granted, there were surely highly trained and combat hardened body guards surrounding the building, house, and snipers on neighboring rooftops, right? Heroic - come on now - Are we becoming Stalin's Russia where the people have to be brainwashed into nationalistic pride?

Its too bad none of this is true. SEALs dont give any info at all about their missions especially a mission of such classifacation and importance. Team six men are too professional to do something so stupid while putting their job they spent thier whole life trying to get on the line.

The raid was a stupid plan that risked the lives of our Navy SEALs.

The Tomahawk crusie missiels could have donethe job and our Pakistainalies could have ID'ed the body.

We lost a Top Secret Stealth helicopter that was then revealed to the Chinese and it's cost 40 million dollars.

Obama is killing people at will without authority.

The ACLU and Louis Farrikhan are very upset that Obama is kiling people, even Americans without a trial/habeas corpus.

I completely disagree with Dr. Baldwin. Contrary to popular belief UBL didnt die 10 years ago. There have been reports that UBL's wife claimed that one of the operators shot UBL oint blank is the face. I would say that it was an assasination. possibly an illegal assasination. However, I dont think he died 10 years ago. The death of 20 plus DEVGRU seals is fishy, however, none of were reported as being a parcipant of the UBL raid.

I so agree w/you /Dr. Baldwin. Actually the New York Times put our an op-ed that OBL died December 12, 2001 because of Kidney failure. you are right on about the so-called theory of the killing, when my friend called and said they had killed him "I said, WHO DID THEY MURDER - obl's been dead 10 1/2 yrs. Who or what else are these usurpers going to dream up before we can get them out of there. The Iran plot is a big joke too, they are looking for a way to go to war for the elitists to keep the usurper in office. God Help US

Since, as a dialysis MD, it is my opinion that OSBL could not have survived on dialysis...sophisticated, complex, requiring many revision operations for the "AV fistula" required for needle introduction...in caves or even at his compound: survived for 11 years which for a 54 year old man to go to 65 is nearly impossible even in USA major clinical centers, ANY talk about killing Osama has to be tempered with who the hell did they shoot, how come DNA could be done in 12 hours (not) and so the body was dumped at sea. Not even going to the shootdown of the Chinook with Seals and Special Ops two months later (to silence them)....but folks, the "raid" was phony. The guy has been dead since at least 2005. I am looking forward to reading this book by Pfarrer. His Warrior Soul book was great--full of action and honesty.

About the title-----authors don't usually get to choose the titles of their books! Astounding but true. They don't even get any say on the covers of the books they write.

So, I agree with WILBUR that it doesn't honor Geronimo, but since when have Americans ever honored Native Americans?

I was angry that UBL was killed. More so than with 9-11. The US has spent over a trillion $ and what does it do? Eliminate the #1 target.

Think of it this way. A basic requirement for a fireman is to carry a 180 pound person down a fire ladder. At least half of that SEAL team could run up three floors carrying 2 UBLs. Disabling chemicals like BZ are off-the-shelf --not counting other stuff. So why were they instructed to kill him?

To shut him up.

Any doctor can painlessly take anything out of anybody. (This classification of drugs is widely available.) Remember your POW lecture? "IF they think you know anything they WILL get it out of you !" No need for the useless water-boarding, slapping, stress positioning or any other the school-yard mentality garbage.

Major industries have been built up with GWOT. So have budgets. UBL was killed to keep the money flowing. Plus keeping political secrets out of public viewing.

A couple of data points: UBL Room established in 1992. 26March1992, Saddam 'Insane' instructs his people to make contact with UBL(all that ever happened was polite, go-nowhere conversations). 1996 I think, the UK hires al-Qaeda to kill Qaddafi so MQ does not link-up with UBL and thereby influence al-Qaeda's operations and direction. Mullah Umar repeatedly agreed in the 1990s to give up UBL but no one gives him the money to pay the tribal leaders -who are getting $200+thousands a pop from UBL- so the tribes will then give up UBL. April1992, Mullah Umar writes Bush and tells him he knows UBL is executing a major attack inside the US -but doesn't know what it is- and would Bush please quit playing around and help him(Umar) get rid of UBL (One specific requested was 'proof' UBL was involved in the embassy bombings). And after 9-11, when Afghanistan had no extradition treaty with the US, and Clinton was admitting he had ordered UBL's assassination, instead of using any three options to institute leagal proceedings --like Int'l Crim. Court, petitioning the Islamic Court like a prosecutor in the US has to do for a warrant, or trying UBL in situ-- the US deliberately keeps everything screwed-up so the Talibs are in the impossible position of just turning someone over to their self-confessed assassins. "Cry havoc..."

Clearly, Bush had another agenda.

But what really sickens me are not just the KIA, but the maimed troops whose lives are ruined on lies and playing around.

"Playing around"? Yes, I know so. One example: Al-Qaeda tried to recruit me in 1996. I had several reasons for not joining up. One was that I thought it was a "put-on". But then, after watching TV news in Jan.2001, I thought "where did I hear that before?". Remembering quite a bit, I typed it all up and sent it to the FBI. Over a decade later, and still no one ever came and asked me anything...even to look at pictures or what they said about their travels and such. Or where they said they got their money from.

So I am curious about what the book says the team was told.

It does not honor Geronimo to say he is a target, insensitive white people.
