Scholar: Reagan Would Have Handled Debt Crisis Differently Than Obama

Yes, the people are the backbone of this country, not the govt! That means that the people, not the govt need to be inpowered. Lower taxes = more economic growth. Historically speaking, what country has ever TAXED AND SPENT their way into prosperity? NONE!

In regards to Reagan: Perhaps we forgot why Reagan spent $$$ on Star Wars? Could it have been that just maybe the USSR was pointing thousands of missles at our children and grandchilden?

No, it wasn't Reagan who put us into a dept hole. Here's a little perspective that will shead some light on what happened:

First of all we are in this crisis because of 8 years of GOP-Bush Administration.

It would be desired that Washigton stops gambling with the well being of our Nation.

Our Government FOR THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE means 90++% of the people with income below $250,000.

It does not mean 90++% are controlled by 1-2 % of the wealthiest, represented by well funded lobbyists.

If our representatives, elected and empowered by us, would do the job they are supposed to do instead of entertaining their selfish power games in the world of Washington, totally detached from the reality of the american people, would realize, maybe in a moment of clarity, that they are gambling with the lives of hundreds of millions of american people.

We the people are the backbone of this country, willing to sacrifice and contribute based on trust in our government.

How dare you, members of Government, play with our lives like this. Default because you can not agree on debt ceiling, money you already spent, justifying cuts in education, social security, health care, infrastructure, science, research, new technologies etc. -OUR FUTURE- but no increase in tax on the wealthiest? Where do you live? The Bush Aministration created a few thousand more Billionaires (supporting your sport) and reduced the middle class standard by double digit million households. WIDENING THE GAP.

It is amazing how self absorbed you people are. Campaign soap opera functions well with uneducated constituents, i guess that's why we cut in education?

Why does a man, highly intelligent, educated, the well being of every American at heart, a father, OUR PRESIDENT, has to deal with boycott just out of principal.

That is a disgrace, shame on you.

Arrogance comes before the fall!!!!!

Imagine that! A budget AND a plan.

Why with both (and a scalpel), I bet you could cut some serious government spending!

BTW, the fact that Obama is trying to handle the debt crisis without either (1) a budget, or (2) a plan, plainly speaks to his incompetence!

Case closed.

So Shirley says Reagan would have handled the debt crises better. He seems to forget that it was Reagan who put us in the debt hole in the first place. His out-of-control spending on defense, most notably the failed "Star Wars" program began this crisis. To make matters worse, it was Reagan who initiated the Social Security mess as well, by looting it to try to pay that debt. The Bush and Clinton administrations continued that policy and turned a surplus into a shortfall.

Just face it: Robert Samuelson of the Washington Post was correct when he said, “Obama has no plan to balance the budget -- ever.”

Like I've said for months now: How can Obama preach fiscal responsibility to us when his Dem party HAS NOT PASSED A BUDGET IN OVER 800 DAYS?!?

I mean (NOT using Obama math), how many FREAKING YEARS is that?!? Seriously...

Eight Hundred Days Without A Budget: A new milestone in Democrat Party governance is reached.
