Senate GOP Offers Obama Three Chances

After reading all of these entries, my response will be this:

Obama did not start this deficit. He didn't help it either. The republicans for the most part know what needs to be done as well as the democrats. All of them wants to be re-elected. All of them wants credit for chasing and forcing the other side out of the game. then passing legislation that will direct action. So... When did it become "us vs. them"? 'One nation, indivisible'! I am ashamed that with this debt issue on the table, both parties acted foolishly and recklessly. I live in Virginia. In the hopes that my congressman might read this post, let me warn him now, my vote goes elsewhere. I'd sooner vote for a paper weight knowing it will do it's job more efficiently and with the same intelligence factor.

Senator McConnell You Said That Your Single Most Important Political Goal Is To Make Sure That President Obama Is A One-Term President...

If I May Quote You Again Senator You Said That, "YOUR MAIN GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE THAT OBAMA FAILS"...

These Are Your Words Senator... Isn't That What You Said On Fox News?

Senator McConnell If President Obama Fails Then America People Fail...Are You And The GOP So Blinded By HATERED, ANGER And RAGE That You Are Willing To DESTORY OUR COUNTRY AND YOUR COUNTRY MEN IN THE PROCESS!

If You Really Cared So Much About Government Spending, Then Why Is Congress Getting A Pay Raise In This Economy?

You And I Both Know The Spending Cuts That The GOP Is Demanding WILL NOT REDUCE THE DEFICT, BUT INCREASE IT OVER TIME! Then You Claim You Want To Create Jobs, Yet Under The GOP Plan You Will CUT JOBS AND INCREASE UNEMPLOYMENT!

SHAME ON YOU!

How Dare You Throw Our Veterans, Our Seniors, Our Children And Our Poor Under The Bus, While You And You Party Drive Over Them On Your Way To The BANK!

MY GOD IN HEAVEN!

ARE YOU WILLING TO DESTROY THIS COUNTRY, SO YOUR POLITICAL PARTY CAN GAIN CONTROL OF THE WHITE HOUSE!

Just So You Know It's Been Done Before!

The Democrats Used That Plan When George W. Bush Was President... Under The Watchful Eye Of The Democrats They Let The Cheney Gang Roved This Country Blind While The George W. Bush Took This Country On Down The Road To Financial Ruin.

So What If The Democrats Gained Control Of The White House, They Lost The Counrty In The Process!

Senator McConnell You Do Know That When You Point A Finger At Someone, Three Fingers Are Pointing Back At You!

If Your Policies Are So GREAT Senator McConnell Why Is Your Home State Of Kentucky The 43rd Poorest State In Our Union? However, Kentucky Does Lead The Nation In Pushing Poison Prescriptions On It's Citizens!

You Would Think Senator McConnell First Political Goal Would Be To Help The Citizen Of Kentucky Break The Circle Of Poverty And Prescription Drug Abuse!

As A Widow I Can Tell You Senator McConnell That A 30 Day Sample Of ABILIFY KILLED My Fiance' In 30 Days...

Senator If Your Successful In Passing The PATIENTS ACT BILL Then I Can't Warn My Fellow American About The Dangers Of These Deadly Doses, And The Pharmaceutical Companies Are Free To Committ MASS MURDER WITHOUT WARNING!

I DON'T THINK SATAN HIMSELF COULD HAVE THOUGHT OF A MORE DIABOLICAL PLOT TO PROFIT OFF OF POISON!

Mr. President When You Go Into Talks With The GOP This Time, PLEASE DON'T FOLD LIKE A TABLE!

And I'm Not Bluffing...

One thing I'd agree with Jeremy above, the two parties both have their "corporate" sponsors who pay for so much of the nauseating advertising blitz that now constitutes our election process. While we all may have our preferences of which party we think we do better under, in the end the process is so corrupt as to make it almost impossible to have a government capable of responding to changing circumstances. I do think where the article above is off, from what I read at Drudge and RedState, is in missing most of the fairly hateful response from the far right, although maybe this was written too early in the day to have caught that. But I almost felt there was a "we can pretend that part away and make this seem okay" approach here.

Not taking action and then pointing fingers afterwards is NOT okay in this time of desperation, and I don't mean just the debt limit. I'm not so sure we shouldn't default, honestly. In general the nations that have done so have ended up much better off 10 and 15 years down the road. Sometimes you just have to kick the habit cold turkey. If anyone here thinks walking away from owing the Chinese a gazillion gazillion dollars is unethical, uh, you might want to have a look at Chinese political and business practices and give some thought to what they do with all the interest we are barely managing to pay.

And, as long as I'm gassing on, you may think this is smart, let Obama own it. But if that goes down, I think you'll see the far right savage and repudiate anyone who enabled it in their own party. Jeremy, do you remember Gov. Beasley and that rebel flag? It just takes one slip with the far right and they will cut you a new one. They mean it when they say you play our way or you gotta go. I don't think you can really say that of the far left, despite the fact that they are terribly disappointed with much of what he's failed to follow through on. But they never really seem to hold him accountable for the things he claimed he would do.

Mitch McConnell is again proving that he is a RINO. It's time to "Primary" McConnell and any other RINOs like him who "Blink"

This is not the first time Mitch McConnell has "Blinked" and caved to Democrat demands. It's time for Mitch McConnell and all other whimps like him to go away.

Obama has not offered any detail for the large spending cuts he is supposedly wiling to accept. For all we know the cuts are probably pretty phoney-- largely to the military( the real cuts) and in the out years-- long after he's gone even if he's re-eelected. Just like the 2010 resolution phoney cuts. The Obama "cuts" will likely never happen.

He's just not serious about reducing gov't. The first two years of his presidency are all anyone needs to know on that issue-- masive bailouts, Obamacare, regulation, stupid stimulous package- non of which helped main street. Even the pathetic 1.5 -2% GNP growth figures primarliy help only his Wall Street buddies. No confidence in the economy.Ever wonder why are interest rates at historical lows, yet nobody can borrow ? It's called over -regulation- it doesn't matter how low rates are if nobody meets the qualifications for borrowing. - Banks are simply scared and unable to loan money. This again equals no confidence in economy and no hiring which reduces gov't revenues.

Obama won't do anything- he'll allow defaults to occur and try to blame everyone else he can blame.

I think the Senate plan would be great if it's workable. Let Obama own this mess .He may have not created it , but he 's sure brought lots of gasoline to the fire.

For one GE is the Democrats version of Big Oil. GE is one of, if not the largest, donor to the DNC.

The Democrats care all right, about being re-elected. If they cared they would cut spending more than raise taxes. The problem with raising taxes is that while a few businesses and industries enjoy tax free burdens the majority do not. So when you raise the taxes on the rich they will not just suck it up and eat it. It will result in either A) Higher prices passed on top you the consumer or, B)lay-offs and shipping even more companies over-seas. We need deep spending cuts and tax code revisions, not class warfare if there is a change in the tax code it needs to effect everyone not just the "rich" by the way my boss is rich, I have never been hired by someone who was not rich.

In two and a half years the debt has grown by the same four and a half trillion $ it grew in eight years aunder Bush. Monetize the debt, cut spending hold back wild schemes that cost trillions and do nothing at all like stimulus,, TARP and quantitative easing. Let Sarah run the party now. She doesn't follow my schemes but does support freezing the debt cieling like three fourths of the rest of us do and only the "professional politicians" don't.

This "plan" demonstrates what cynics have been saying all along, and what Obama himself is likely to argue in 2012: that the GOP has no real interest in reducing the deficit, and has merely been *pretending* to care because they consider these budgetary fights a convenient tool to deploy in pursuit of their true goal, which is to seize power for power's own sake.

Good luck selling that to the American people.

With the amount of Trust I earned for this country, the GOP is still bent on having the middle class and poor pay for "Corporate" excess? Corporations got us into this mess; let them clean it up by paying the bill.

GE paid no taxes this year. That is because GE, THE GOP, and BIG OIL WROTE THE TAX CODES. They are just as adorable as those three little pigs in Orwell's "Animal Farm." I would like to take them down abandoned mine shafts to have them "slaughtered."

How ironic, now, those three little pigs are sitting at the dining room table calculating how to carve up the ham.
