Showing that the nation is ready for a reality show presidential contest, Americans want Sarah Palin to pick New York businessman and Apprentice host Donald Trump as her running mate if she runs for and wins the 2012 GOP nomination.
Some 25 percent picked The Donald over established politicians like Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

The pairing would create possibly the nation’s most flamboyant political ticket ever, though some pundits say it would guarantee that President Obama and Vice President Biden would be re-elected. But it would surely stir up the 2012 general election, just like the duo did last week at their Times Square pizza summit. [Check out political cartoons about Palin.]

The poll is just the latest sign of Palinmania. Later this week, several of her emails while Alaska’s governor are due to be released, and newspapers like the Washington Post and New York Times are so excited that they are asking readers to help read them all.
