Nothing beats Italian silk, especially when it’s a gift from Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The latest federal report that lists gifts from foreign leaders to U.S. officials shows that four Democrats, including Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, have kept some of Berlusconi’s silky-soft presents. Since House rules require that only gifts worth $335 or less can be kept, Pelosi had to pay Uncle Sam for one of three E. Marinella scarves valued at $877.50. Since the ties were just $70 a pop, California Rep. George Miller, New Jersey Rep. Bill Pascrell, and Connecticut Rep. John Larson kept four each.
