GOP’s Dick Lugar Knocks Tea Party

The unofficial leader of the Tea Party being Sarah Palin of course. Who I find very interesting and intriguing, but still can't figure out what her policies would be other than being for "liberty" and "freedom".

Yes, I too am interested in what the Tea Party Specifically wants. Less spending yes, I understand. Entitlements, yes, I understand. But What spending and what entitlements? How much? What about the Military? Do they really need 263 Golf Courses? Is that part of "keeping us safe"? From what? An officer with a wicked slice? Until Tea Partiers can articulate specific programs that will dramatically reduce the deficit, I'm not on board. Hope isn't a plan. Neither is anger. If things haven't worked out for these people that are angry, as Dick Lugar inimates, it may be time for introspection and self reflection on the choices they made in life. It is called personal responsibility. But right now, I'll settle for specifics on what they mean by "less spending" and "smaller government". During the election Sharon Angle, Ken Buck and Christine O'Donnel never gave specifics. Lets keep in mind, Hu Jintao has already held one press conference with no restrictions on questions, and the unofficial leader of the Tea Party has yet to hold one.

Did their feelings get hurt when someone said something bad about them? Everyone, please be gentle with tea party folk so they don't feel dumped on.

Senator Lugar is missing the point.

The Tea Party is not about a platform of citizens that want to run the government... we are a consolidation of citzens who want the government to reduce the overwhelming force of the government running our lives into the ground.

Taxes and Entitlements are just the tip of the iceburg. We cannot afford to grow a world covering empire anymore. We cannot afford to let politicians perform at their current level of 'spreading the wealth' to those who have donated to their campaigns the most.

Fraud and deceit are at the greatest levels in government as anytime in history.

The fiscal reporting is unfactual and severely misconstrued as it the unemployment which is actually in the 20 percent range and not below 10 percent.

Just the other day Senator Reid reported that Social Security is in good health and is capable of another 20 years of continuance !

We are tired and we are angry..... let us show you the door gentlemen....

Brian,

please share with us what you specifically mean. Just curious.

I am from SC, but admired how he stood up to the party extremists recently. That is why I am weighing in. You are from Missiouri, not Indiana, so why is this important to you?

Please explain.

Conservative, but pragmatic. Internationally aware - something his party sorely lacks.

Stupid and angry is no way to go to an election. Pumped full of Tea Party rhetoric and FOX propaganda isn't either. Get rid of the Limbaugh rants, Beck and the Bobble-head babes - Palin and Bachmann.

Fixing things rarely means burning down the building. Lugar has been very conservative - and a good representative for Indiana. Get rid of the pitchforks and the Tea Party, and let's have adult conversations again... Please.

Paul:

If Senator Lugar continues to have the same "understanding" as to why Americans are involved in the Tea Party Movement, he will need to start thinking about his next job after November, 2012. Sure we are "angry" but it is because politicians like Senator Lugar have lost focus of the conservative values and foundation upon which this great country is built and should be managed today.
