Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he sees the president's week ending.

John Zogby on Week: 104

"Tragedy almost always brings our nation together. The Tucson, Ariz. shootings could be the exception, a reality that brought more importance to Barack Obama's healing words at the memorial service. Our interactive poll showed how great a challenge Obama faced. It found a majority saying the shootings will either bring no change in how politicians talk about their opponents (47 percent) or that there is nothing wrong with current political rhetoric (12 percent). As expected, Obama rose above the partisan finger-pointing and instead focused on the victims and the suffering of their families and community. He used their lives, especially Christina Taylor Green, 9, as examples of what we have in common rather than what sets us apart; and why we dishonor them if we continue to vilify those with whom we disagree. The arena rally setting was at times off-putting, but in the end the crowd's energy amplified Obama's words. It was both a sensitive and compelling performance. In comparison, Sarah Palin's video and accusations of 'blood libel' against her made her look smaller and Obama so much bigger."

This week's grade: A

Last week's: B+

Obama seized the photo opportunity, and took Holder with him. What was that all about?

Say Now,..JUST,..WHERE DID ALL THOSE FREE T-shirts come from,..?

Why at a Memorial for those of a Tragedy,..were all the Students attending,..yelling, clapping, screaming,..wearing those T's Hooting and hollering as if they were at a Football Game Pep Rally?

Gee, I have attended Memorials in my time, BUT I never attended one that turned into a Political PEP RALLY, yet,..that kind of MEMORIAL is beginning to become the NORM for those of the left, I remember the one for, oh,..was it PAUL WELSTONE/ anyway,...he died in a plane Crash I believe, if I remember correctly,..it too turned into a (WE GONNA WIN ONE FOR PAUL,YEP,..LIKE A ..PEP RALLY,..same atmosphere as this memorial,..Just saying,..some speakers were a bit sad and saggy in my view,..

only Obama tried to RISE above it in his speech, at least some parts,..I thought,..ware rather good,...he should thank & keep that writer,..

To me,..THE REST of the show, and that is what it started as,...a show,..face it, it started and became political,..it looked, it had the feel of,..one the lefts CAMPAIGN or PEP Rally's, or at least, that is my view. I'll leave the rest up to you!

Obama did not read a nationally divisive political speech written by Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, David Plouffe, or any other the supporting zealots of the notorious Israel Lobby mafia. He read a bipartisan speech written by Cody Keenan - patriot and Tea Party brother.
