Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he sees the president's week ending.

John Zogby on Week: 102

"No runs, no hits, no errors this week. News that the drones in Afghanistan are working, while the drones on Capitol Hill are not. And the president is in Hawaii, while we are not. There is even more talk of some recovery in 2011 while people are still returning gifts and retail sales are better than the last few years. But we all await those unemployment numbers soon. With Hawaii's Diamondhead in the background, how can he get anything but a solid A?"

This week's grade: A

Last week's: A-

DeeToo. The name reminds me of R2D2. A droid. As in, a driod who follows the programming of the left. And you talk about spin! Have you ever thought beyond the sound-bite value of any of the things you mentioned? About how the START treaty really accomplishes nothing because Russia isn't a significant nuclear threat anyway? About the unintended consequences of the repeal of DADT (are military ministers now forbidden to teach according to their faith, for example)? About how raising taxes on anybody during a recession is bad for the economy, even according to the government's own economists? About the fact that GM had a good year in part because they were able to use accounting tricks like paying off one government loan with another to make their financial numbers look good? That unemployment numbers are down, but employment numbers aren't up a corresponsing amount because so many people have lost hope and quit looking for work? If it's not up to the President to bring jobs back, why did we need the "stumulus" in the first place? What about all those "shovel-ready" projects the "stimulus" was supposed to support in order to help create jobs? Oh yeah, Obama recently admitted that there were no shovel-ready jobs. The don't (and didn't exist).

Keep trying to spin positive. I think most people are humored by your attempts to create puppies and rainbows from the abysmal things this president and his congressional cronies have done.

I'm not picking on Obama at all that he's taking a break. I wish he'd take more of them.

The President finished up the year with a bang and has accomplished more in 2 yrs than the previous president in 8 yrs.

If you measured his success by the absurdity of the wacko response, then Obama must be doing something right - because the wacko right is off the rails on their crazy rants now. Sure all the bigots ginned up on their fox propaganda are goofy-ier than ever, but it means the rest of the country is satisfied things are getting done and Obama is doing a responsible job. When you get the crazy right ann crazy left all worked up, it means the majority of us in the moderate center are being taken into consideration.

Its harder than ever to get anything done in these hyperpartisan times and our economy requires that we make some major fixes. So getting things done is a good thing. Keep it up!
