There’s more to the media spat over whether ABC News broke an embargo by reporting on President Obama’s recent trip to Afghanistan minutes before he arrived.Whispers learns that the military team that mistakenly released the news of Obama’s impending visit had actually said it was Vice President Joe Biden who was planning to greet the troops. The military made the correction without prohibiting press coverage of the trip until Obama landed, a common security measure when the president travels into war zones. ABC, therefore, thought it was OK to report it, but eventually held off until just before Obama landed and the embargo expired.
