Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he sees the president's week ending.

National pollster John Zogby gives President Obama a grade of D for week 97 of his presidency.

John Zogby on Week: 99

"Our most recent approval polling shows the president getting back some support from Democrats and is now overall at 42 percent. On Nov. 22, he hit a record low of 39 percent due to a drop in approval from his own party. Reality may have sunk in among dissident Democrats that the president needs their moral support as he takes on the new and uncompromising GOP majority in the House. Obama doesn't seem to be changing his approach to the Republicans, as he seeks compromise and wants voters to see him as the adult in the room. His hope is that Republicans overplay their hand and anger independents. The risk is that Democrats will see Obama as a leader who continues to negotiate with himself and give more and more away to the GOP. The WikLeaks have dominated the news cycle and caused embarrassment for the State Department, but voters remain much more interested in the economy."

This week's grade: D

Last week's: D-

zeeeyesopen, did you read this executive order? it is nothing more than standard issue procedures. It sets up procedures to allow a former President or present President to have a say as the release of their Presidential records. There is no ban on any records, but it does set up a way for the Attorney General or other officials to challenge any "executive privilege" sought by a former or current President
