Wolf Blitzer really can bust a move. And even better, he can do it "Dougie" style.
Breaking out of his comfort zone, "The Blitz" appeared at the Soul Train Awards Wednesday night as a presenter where performer Doug E. Fresh showed him the moves to his hip-hop dance, the "Dougie," that's sweeping the nation.
"I had a great time last night," Blitzer, host of The Situation Room, tells Whispers. "What am I doing to get over the election craziness? The 2010 Soul Train Awards," he says, adding that he's become a fan of the "Dougie" since John Wall, the rookie sensation of the Washington Wizards basketball team Blitzer follows, does it at home games.
In addition to learning the "Dougie," Blitzer also accepted an award on behalf of Eminem, who could not attend the taping of the award show. It will be shown on BET and CENTRIC November 28.
So what's his connection? Blitzer says that he grew up a fan of Soul Train when the old dance show used to be on TV. "I grew up watching Soul Train and love Soul Train. That's why I was thrilled to participate in the Soul Train Awards. It brought back great memories," he tells us. CNN's entertainment blog added that Blitzer saw the show as "the destination for all things cool, from fashion to music, when he was growing up."
