Mythbusters, Meteorite Men Hit D.C.'s Mall

This weekend's USA Science and Engineering Festival wouldn't be complete without some rock star hosts from the Science Channel, the Maryland-based cable network.

Kari Byron of Head Rush and the Meteorite Men will participate. Network officials say that Byron will be showing off her science experiment skills. She's also a co-host of Mythbusters, which made news this week when the White House announced President Obama's upcoming appearance on the show as part of a push to promote math and science education. Network insiders tell Whispers that Obama has already taped the show.

Obama will be trying to help the myth-busting team decide if "the Greek scientist Archimedes really set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun." Sound familiar? The show busted that legend in 2006, but Obama wanted to make another try.

The science fair takes place on the National Mall all weekend.
