Obama Approval Ratings Moving Up

Back to blog

This is the first time I have ever responded to a blog, but I'm so sick and tired of all the whining and Obama bashing. There is no rhyme or reason for it, especially given all the problems, wars, deficits and obstructionist Republicans he inherited. The Republicans have said that they will do anything to keep President Obama from succeeding and receiving credit for any of his accomplishments. They have done a very good job of that. It's funny that I never heard such mean-spirited, evil and even dangerous comments that border on insanity when Mr. Bush Jr.was in the White House. Where is the civil, reasoned debating of issues and ideas? Instead, we're steadily fed the garbage of personal attacks that vilify and demonize. Who are the people who act like the latter? Why, they are the same people who wrongly believe that the louder they yell and nastier they behave, the more right they are. And not all of them belong to the Republican Party.

Wake up and see the real perpetrators; Business, and Greed, theirs and ours. There is so much underhandedness and downright illegal wheeling and dealing going on, because in the world of Business, the end truly justifies the means. The question for us, then, is why do we allow it and even seem not to notice that there is anything wrong? It's because we, too, are complicit in this game. Business wants us to focus all our negative attention on the Federal Government, which also bears some blame, but not to the extent that Business wants us to believe. Business is extremely successful at redirecting our focus, so that we ignore what's really going on. It is Business (with lots of help from the Republican Party, wanna be's and others who stand to gain from the spoils) which controls our country and determines our fate, and we slavishly follow its mandates.

Business wants us to believe that we are overtaxed and that the government is taking control of our lives. Just think for a moment. If we are constantly told, by the powers that be and shrill commentators on certain television and radio networks, that our government has grown so big and powerful, it intrudes into our lives and tells us what to do, we begin to believe the message. That, coupled with the noise made by people on either extreme end of society, are enough to take us over the cliff, like sheep who follow the wrong shepherd. We don't even question or try to verify what is being said, because that would take too much energy and force us to be skeptical about what we're being told. There are excellent nonpartisan Web sites, such as www.factcheck.org and www.scopes.com, among others, which will help us to decipher what's true/untrue about the rumors, statements and commercials made by politicians running for office, newsmakers, etc. It only takes a few minutes to look up and verify/debunk comments and assertions by those supposedly in the know. Go forth and empower yourself.

President Obama's approval rating is higher than Reagan's was at the same time in their respective presidency! Look it up.. USA Today has a great interactive chart that shows all the Presidents ratings from Nixon through Obama.

Take off your rose colored glasses and read the tea leaves. This is the craziest spin of numbers I've ever seen. Just saying it's so don't make it so Joe. Get your head out of the sand and see the light. Your boy's in trouble. Take the offensive is paying off? Don't think so.

The 2 wars have cost us about $1-4 trillion over then past 10 years depending on whom you listen to. This "empty suit" administration is running $1.5 TRILLION deficets EVERY YEAR for the next 10+ years. You guys want another 2 years to screw things up more? Why don't you just move to Europe where they have your socialist democracies which produce very slow economic growth (if any) because of very high taxes...and the worst thing...very low personal initiative. Is that what you want for your kids?? Or, would you rather to be rewarded for your personal achievements. I prefer being a "doer" rather than a "taker." BO's administration is made up of people who don't have a clue about workibng for a living and having to produce on their own...they have always taken their riches from others....the tax payers.

I think it's hilarious that you have this posted on the same day that every other headline on this issue is some version of "Obama's Approval Rating Sinks to New All-time Low".

P.S. Re:Raoul's comment that if we hadn't gone to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, we wouldn't have any budget problems...Apparently Raoul has some problems just adding up numbers.

Jack of VA 10:47AM September 27, 2010

It wasn't Obama that got us into Iraq and Afghanistan, wars that have drain our treasury. If we had that money today there would be no budget problem. If there were fewer fraudulent and greedy people who cheat on their taxes or who like Sarah Palin believe that it is unpatriotic to pay taxes. They also are the enemy. Wake up America, check out the GOP proposals if they get back in.

However disappointed folks may be (did we expect miracles?), we need to realize that this election presents a clear choice between the party (Obama and the Dems) who are trying to solve problems and dig us out of the hole left by the previous administration, versus the party (GOP) that put us in this hole (deficit, financial meltdown, and two wars).

Are you disappointed that harmony didn't break out in Washington? Blame it on the Party of No. Obama tried again and again to work on bipartisan solutions, but Boehner, Cantor and the like just spit in his face.

Let's give Obama and the Dems two more years to work on the horrendous problems the GOP left. We can always change horses in 2012.

In the meantime, realize that voting "No" or "none of the above" is not an option. It just empowers the fat cats and special interests who fund the GOP, with their agenda of tax cuts for the rich, undoing health insurance reform, etc.

I like what I am reading...But you should also realize that your TV people have willingly embraced the travails of Beck, Palin, Limbo and worse, so you must verbalize your anger with broadcast media...No one would care about the Tea Partiers if CNN stopped treating them as if they were important!! as if they were responsible and clever...Do you realize the kind of bills that will come out of the House under Boener and McConnel? Will someone kindly write to me for supports; I'm beside myself...Ken: dellecav@hotmail.

I agree with Maven. I do not want to live in a socialist state full of entitlements for the people who do not want to work. The longer we give them free money the less they are likely to even look for work. The Democrats have had power in Congress since 2006, just about the time things starting going downhill. Don't blame Bush he is just one man. Obama doesn't realize how angry we are in the heartland over things like the death tax and 1099 in Obamacare. I wonder how many people know what this will do to family farms and your food source?

Sharon of IL 11:20PM September 26, 2010

I agree wholeheartely with AMERICAN SO FICKLE. Wek need to stop whining and blaming the president, when we all know that this mess started a long time ago. I did not hear anyone complaining when there was a caucasion in charge, and left a big mess. We all know that this is the major complaint. I know, as long as it is someone white- they are right. All the hypocrisy, racism, hatred, all behind a color. Something is wrong with these people mentally. It is actually pitiful and sad.

And all of this blatant hatred from the TEA PARTY. CHRISTINE O'DONNELL AND WITCHCRAFT, SARAH PALIN AND HER SIMPLE MIND, GLENN BECK AND HIS HATRED, AND THIS IS JUST TO NAME A FEW.no one in their right mind is deceived by any of these people. As they say there is none so blind as those who refuse to see. It is because they do not wish to see.

regardless of what certain people may wish, the world will not go back to the way they want it. What they need to keep in mind is that G-d is in charge and not man. This is the problem with mankind today. placing oneself or attempting to place oneself in G-d"s status will end in nthing but error and hell.
