Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he sees the president's week ending.

National pollster John Zogby gives President Obama a grade of C- for week 84 of his presidency.

John Zogby on Week 84:

Tuesday's primary results continued to show that incumbent and establishment candidates are at greater risk this year, but the majority of them are still winning. That is a hopeful sign for President Obama and the majority Democrats that well-funded and fully-prepared candidates can survive voter anger. While Obama was on the road trying to remind voters about "failed" Republican policies, the imbroglio over a proposed mosque in lower Manhattan dominated the news and a poll found the bizarre notion that the president is a Muslim is now held by one in five people. A federal court overturned federal rules on stem cell research, and the administration will appeal for a return to the policy it implemented last year, putting itself in the middle of another hot issue on which a small majority of voters agree with Obama's position.

This week's grade: C-

Last week's: D

there's a certain fatalism when voting. i have seen very few politicians that weren't seriously flawed. they all are. it's just how deep the flaw goes into their ability to perform in office. heck even jefferson and franklin had mistresses and bad habits. but they didn't live in a microsopic world either.
