Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he see's the president's week ending.
John Zogby on Week 83:
The president can still raise lots of money, but his polling numbers are at the lowest to date. He has certainly hurt himself (and perhaps his party) with his stance on the proposed mosque in lower Manhattan. First he was for it, then he was against it. That didn't work to well the last time a leading Democrat was for something before he was against it. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is in a tough reelection bid, has come out with a stance contrary to the president and is now engaged in a heated battle with Speaker Nancy Pelosi over investigating the mosque.
