New Book: Clinton Aides Shocked by Lewinsky Affair

August 11, 2010 RSS Feed Print

Another fascinating book about the Clinton years is soon to hit the streets, this one built on interviews with 150 of Bubba's friends, allies, and enemies. A Complicated Man: The Life of Bill Clinton as Told by Those Who Know Him, by historian Michael Takiff, reveals just how shocked top aides were by the Monica Lewinsky scandal. In the galley of the book, spokesman Mike McCurry recalls talking to former Washington Post reporter Peter Baker about his breaking story the night it went to press. "That Monica? That can't be right," McCurry says. He recalls how Lewinsky's focus was on communications boss George Stephanopoulos. "We knew who she was because she used to flirt excessively with Stephanopoulos," he says. And Clinton fooling around made no sense, he adds. "He's got Secret Service guys here all the time. Even if he wanted to, there's no way he could pull anything off." Political aide Paul Begala simply called the report "dizzying and awful."

I don't/didn't object to 'Monica & Bill' on the basis of an extramarital affair...I objected on the basis of WJ Clinton NOT having 'fellatio' in his official job description, either as a primary function or on scheduled breaktimes!

At least the former NY Attorney General, Eliot, 'Socks_On!' Spitzer, had the (superficial) decency to 'get his jollies' on his own time/dime!

Mr. Clinton was hired to operate/represent/protect his country, (to 'oversimplyfy' a bit!), and as a result of his, Bush's & now, O'Bama's 'efforts', America seems to be bent on eliminating F/t & P/t employment, (particularly) for American citizens!

America is described as a 'consumer economy', yet these chief executives seem intent on eliminating employment/income, thereby eliminating consumersim, and...Presto!

...The current economic depression.

I might have expected such antics from the Anencephlic from Wazzila, and/or, the Keating-5-Aluminus who vetted her so thoroughly, NOT!

But it is alledged that Clinton & O'Bama are...

edumacated! (spelling error intentional!).
