Tim Pawlenty's Street Talk on the 2012 Campaign Trail

Governor Pawlenty should be careful in his effort to walk in the shoes of the guys who wear Carhart and drink Miller. They are not ignorant farmers or working class people who can't see through a slick politician's efforts to gather votes. Further, his efforts at street talk can only bring him pain. Neither he nor his staff have a clue what some of these terms mean, and surprise!, the meanings change more often than these people will ever be able to keep up with. I'm sure he has any number of 'Young Republican' staffers willing to teach him this "street talk" but "how do they know"?

It's true that Tim Pawlenty is drawing lots of younger republicans, especially those in college. My friend and I go to the the University of Southern california and the University of Minnesota each repectively. Recently, we met with one of his top cabinet members, Gopal Khanna and upon his request have set up a 2012 Pawlenty facebook page, which can be accessed here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Tim-Pawlenty-2012/139789152719067?ref=ts. Supporters of Pawlenty please join!

"The 2012 presidential election ticket is drawing lots of younger generation Republicans."

Prove it.

The school Pawlenty's kids go to doesn't "suck". It's Minnehaha Academy, a private school that my daugher attended. It's one of the top private college-prep schools in the Twin Cities and is affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church. It's a great school and also a great bargain. I just hope Pawlenty's kids don't go to the University of Minnesota. Tuition has doubled during Pawlenty's tenure as he has steadily reduced state aid to higher education. http://minnehahaacademy.net/

you never know what you are going to get on any given day. You play with the elements, the travel, the players, time changes, roster variations.....love it.

I like running or managing like most people, but I love to explore the possibilities and probabilities without complications of tertiary activities and processes impeding my progress. That is what politics has become. The best laid plans has been laid to waste.

When you are a CEO of a company, there is greater latitude in which you can venture and you use various resources and don't require permission to obtain those services. When you are part and parcel of the 'party' you are obliged to use what is handed you; and many times you know full well many of those choices is like fitting a rounded peg in a square hole. You have to slice and dice the surrounding area to make it fit. Not real practical.

You can have your politics and your glamour, and I will work i n a consulting capacity. Presidential tenor I am not, Pawlenty's future is mapped out; but his autonomy is nowhere near what the CEO can appreciate for all.
