Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis, and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he see's the president's week ending.

John Zogby on Week 72:

National pollster John Zogby gives President Obama a grade of C for week 71 of his presidency.

"This is the type of week a president could wake in a cold sweat and ask 'did I really want this job.' No matter which way you cut it, this has been a bad week. As his VP might whisper, this has been a BFW. Just look at the map and you see potential and real blowouts in the Koreas, the Middle East, the Gulf of Mexico, and in Brazil and Turkey, who are asserting some authority with Iran. At home, high tech giant Hewlett Packard is laying off thousands. On the other hand, his polling numbers are not moving up or down. Americans don't trust the Democrats, but they appear to trust Republicans even less."

This week's grade: C-

Last week's: C

More Americans do trust Democrats over Republicans. They remember who got us into this financial crisis and these budget busting wars overseas. We know that we would be worse off if McCain Palin won the election. McCain was still talking about deregulation when banks were failing and people were going upside down on mortgages. And he flip-flops on Immigration reform and Gays in the Military. Americans see this. Republicans side with banks, corporations and Wall Street over the people that they represent. They do not want more regulation over banks, they want less! They put their trust in corporate America because that's who gives them the money to win elections. On environmental issues, Americans trust Dems over Republicans. We know Republicans would leave it to corporate America to clean up their mess while Democrats would regulate to prevent disasters from happening in the first place. Palin's Drill, Baby, Drill will continue to haunt her as the Gulf oil spill turns out to be the worst ecological disaster in American history. Americans get this.

Nationwide, Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans. Sadly, Democrats don't turn out to the poles as often as Republicans. Republicans get angry when things are not going their way. They become obstructionists, the party of No. Americans see this. Republicans do not want to work together with Democrats, they want the president to fail. Rush Limbaugh put into words what many Republicans felt, but were afraid to say. Americans see this and they trust the Democrats more than the Republicans.

First of all, those are FAVORABILITY ratings. Where did it say that people TRUSTED Democrats more than Republicans? Just because a poll says they "favor" a certain party doesn't mean they TRUST them more, it just means that one stupid poll has shifted toward that party and that could be for a number of reasons.

Secondly, people have been trusting Obama less and less every day that he has been the President. Look at Pelosi and Reid's poll numbers and the election of Scott Brown, who took the seat of TED KENNEDY.

So, I'm sorry - who are these people that, "trust Democrats more than Republicans"? I'll tell you right now, I live in RI -quite possibly the most liberal place on the PLANET and even I don't know anyone who trust Democrats more than Republicans. In fact, many people over here are very disappointed with Obama and the Democrats.
